There are very similar MC-12s on other sites for about the same amount of money. I think that this is a very good looking knife. Very good knives come out of Seki City. I don't know about dropping $180 or more on a VG-10 folder. With what I have read about warranty issues with knives from MD, I don't think that I would consider buying one where problems could easily be expected. Like the wood. Bad F&F. Damage. There are several other dealers online that I purchase from, and they have always been helpful and willing to correct problems. If I really collected knives instead of buying them to use, or I'm curious, or give to others, I just might consider this one. Is there a Safe Queen in your future?

14themoneyI've got a ratio of about three queens to one worker, but interestingly, my two, until recently but now three, Mcustas are workers (the latest being a Katana delivered this past Thursday via Massdrop). Light-work workers to be sure, because I have enough less pretty knives if I need to beat something to hell, but the Mcustas definitely are not safe queens or even drawer models. They're just too well built to never be used, and they never fail to start a conversation. And they ALMOST look classy enough to not draw strange looks at the steak house when I decline to mangle my beef with their very misnomered "steak knife" that is in fact so dull I'd have had doubts it could have gotten through the decoratively sculpted butter.
