Crafted in Seki City—Japan’s cutlery capital—the Mcusta MC-2 Basic Series combines the functionality of an all-around blade with the aesthetics of a gentleman’s folder. Slim and unobtrusive, the knife weighs just 3.4 ounces, yet it measures nearly 8 inches long to tackle more strenuous tasks. The 3.4-inch blade is made from your choice of VG-10 or 33-layered nickel Damascus with a VG-10 core. Press on one of the thumbstuds to rotate it open. It locks in place with the liner lock. The handle, available in five different materials, features undulating grooves for grip. The two larger grooves closer to the blade offer excellent maneuverability. When held at different angles, the handle glistens in the light. Use the included pouch for convenient carry.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice from four different options. Some blades feature plain VG-10; others feature 33-layered VG-10 Damascus. Pricing for each will vary. See checkout options for more details. Due to the sensitive nature of shipping knives internationally, we are able to ship only some of the knives on Massdrop to select countries. It is the responsibility of the buyer to know and comply with all importation regulations and local laws. Click here for additional information.
Since the mid-thirteenth century, Seki City has been the cutlery hub of Japan. Thanks to its close proximity to rich sources of iron sand, charcoal, and water, it was a natural choice for skilled craftsman of old, and remains so today. Mcusta, located in Seki City, blends traditional artistry with modern technology, which may be where it gets its name meaning "modern custom." Each of its knives is laser cut, CNC machined, and assembled and finished by hand to ensure the utmost quality.
