shawnedeeI assume it's meant to be a show-piece rather than an actual EDC knife. It could certainly be used in the latter role, but in general, flashy looks, tanto tips, san-mai VG-10, and katana inspirations are all the 2nd kind of cool. Pardon the nutnfancy reference for those who dislike him.
Other than some missing customization/utility it looks well designed for it's purpose as an accessory. Deep carry, good color schemes, and I hear generally good things about Mcusta. I doubt it's sold anywhere for the actual MSRP but I think 100$ is still a decently discounted price.
MDDogeI carry my Kershaw Skyline tip down with no problems. Albeit it has the ability to switch to tip-up, I haven't done so. This price is much cheaper than the major knife retailers which typically only have 1-2 colors available at a time.
JamesXIt seems about $50 or so less on average, and the only missing color combination I can remember is the darker blue/violet I've seen around. (Unless the one in this drop is that one.) Also a correction, the clip isn't removable as I erroneously stated, so that's unfortunate. You're right though, this is a good selection at a good discount.
Tip up vs tip down is largely personal preference I agree, but lack of options is a strong negative for many.
JamesXTip up carrying was never a problem until recently. It's like everything else in the knife/gun/edc/tactical community. One person says something, and everyone else starts saying the same thing to look cool. And they act like they've always been doing it. Sorta like the c-clamp/thumb over bore style of shooting a rifle. All of a sudden everyone is doing it. Up until about 5 years ago, you NEVER saw anyone do m shoot a rifle like that, and now everyone is doing it. Same with tip tip down carry. "Well, so and so carries it tip down, so it must be the coolest way to do it. I'm going to start carrying my knife tip down!"
DrewDelSo do you carry tip down just to make a personal statement?
I used to carry tip down(when pretty much all folders were offered tip down), then I heard about tip up carry from a few people, which I then got to experience with my first few knives from Benchmade. After trying it I decided I liked it better.
Such a strange thing to fuss over in attempt to insult others.
guvnorI personally prefer tip down. I've tried both ways and I'm just as fast as tip up guys. It's all about execution and how you first grab the knife. On a side note I've been eyeing this knife for about 5 years or so when I first saw it. Since the price was right I had to pull the trigger. I probably won't ever carry it though.
MDDogeVery nice looking and VG-10 is sweet. But I can't see it being practical EDC or something LE would not question because of the looks. Show and tell piece that, for sure, will give you nods in a local ninja club :)
shawnedeeNews flash: did you know that using Tip Down is faster and better? It's a gentleman's/show piece I guess you don't know what that means either. This knife has been around for years lasting longer than your pieces of shit knives you buy.
HowAmIPersonally, I don't really care if it's tip down or tip up as deployment speed doesn't really matter if I'm using my knife as a tool. However, if I wanted a folder to deploy ASAP, I'd get an automatic or one with a wave deploy.
LucunSame for me, and you get used to eithet position anyway. Only thing i couldnt get used to is the wave on the cqc6k. On some of my pants it just never would open all the way and it bit my fingers...
HowAmIThe knife is very very sharp and well with a few of my work pants the wave feature would either not work at all or partially open. And well i didnt think about it expected the blade to be fully open and grazed my fingers on the blade
