Beautiful but fragile
These dice look great, but they need to be handled with extreme care.

Reeeeeeally have to be careful rolling these guys. I guess it's on me for not thinking of it, but they chip super easy.

These are absolutely gorgeous.
Because they're gemstone, the chip more easily than other dice so either use the original container or a nice padded holder to keep them in and roll them in a padded box as well. I learned this the hard way when the d4 from this set got chipped :'(

I got the engraved version of these dice and I must say they are the most gorgeous dice I have. Absolutely beautiful! The gold lettering really goes well with the amethyst. If you're on the fence, I highly recommend these.

The ones I bought are engraved—I do not buy gemstone dice unless the numbers are engraved (the drop varies between having engraved versions or sticker versions of numbers, so be sure to read carefully). I have several sets of gemstone dice from MDG, and all of them are stunning in their unique ways. The amethyst are no exception. The color is great, and I do actually use them in game play. I roll them in a padded dice tray and only roll one at a time to help avoid any chipping or cracking. Gemstone dice are more fragile than metal or polymer, of course, but if you are careful, they can be used in game play without issues.
The gold engraved numbers offer a good contrast and are easy to read against the purple/lilac color of the dice.

These dice are really nice and high quality. I just wish the numbers were engraved instead of the baked on type

Beautiful coloration, more of a lilac color, have been using them in the game since. Only comment is the stone quality was good but not great. Cleavage can be seen in some of the die, not sure if those will be planes of weakness. Nothing has broken but I feel I need to keep them in the 'fragile' category. I store them in the pill box they were shipped in.

Beautiful, but exceptionally delicate dice. I'm going to need to invest in a very well-padded rolling tray before using them extensively.

The dice are beautifully made and were a great gift for my girlfriend who is into rpgs and gemstones, but putting them in the bag we got with them, chipped the d4. We coated some in a clear coat, but we're still hesitant to use them, for fear of them breaking further.
