Several questions: * Why are there multiple Lexan plates? * How are the Lexan plates affixed to the bottom of the stainless frame? Are they relying on the springiness of the plastic to hold them in place? * How quick is it to assmeble the blotter + Lexan plate + paper? Looks like it has the potential to be faster than the traditional screw-together variety. * Can we get a picture of the underside?
The white/stainless on white background is a bit of a problem in the product images; makes it hard to see what we're getting, here.
I'm interested, particularly if this is quick enough to assemble to justify packing flat in my portfolio. I tend to use fountain pens for taking notes at work, but I don't carry a blotter from meeting to meeting due to the bulk. I've just got several sheets of Herbin blotting paper stuffed in my portfolio. (And a wood blotter on my desk, at home...)

Dermott Hey Dermott,
I will try to answer in order :)
1) There are multiple plates as they are quite thin and can break if pressed to hard, the manuf. has included extras in case this happens. 2) The lexan plate is held by 2 small channels cut into the underside of the Blotter plate. The end of the lexan plate are captured creating the bow for the blotter. 3) Very quick to assemble, literally about 1-2 mins. 4) I have attached an image of the underside below. This would be a great little blotter to carry on the go as it has a much smaller footprint to store than a traditional wooden rocker blotter.

DaveHoffI'm assuming that "1-2mins" actually means "seconds", in this case, based on the picture. =) I like the lip around the corners of the blotter plate; looks like it should hold the Lexan pretty securely. Good feature, too, since retrofitting another type of bowed plastic (or thin wood, even) should be trivial if I manage to break all the Lexan sheets like some kind of gorilla. Cool.
