I have a pair of Etymotic ER3XR in-ears (which have MMCX connections), and these look like a great way to make them bluetooth headphones. My biggest concern is the angle of the connection- these look like they were designed for connecting to drivers that are angled perpendicular to the connection, while the ER3's MMCX is at the back of the earphone:

Any ideas if these will work? I'm assuming the memory wire at the ear hook can be bent to accommodate, but I'm wondering if they'll still hold comfortably/securely if I do that.

SubFuzeI think it'd be fine. You will not feel a difference, I assume once you have the angle that's comfortable for you. I do have to remind you that the memory wire will not retain its form indefinitely. Hopefully that won't bother you too much.

SubFuzeThe connector/cable will stick right out of your ear, don't think it will look nice.

RichJo86I'm a lot less worried about aesthetics than comfort and stability. Also, it sits pretty deep in the ear canal, so it'll probably stick out less than you're thinking.

SubFuzeYou need to use scissors/knife/sander to remove a bit of plastic around the MMCX connector so that it will fit inside the ring on the back of the ER3 earpieces. I also went ahead and cut off the ear hook sleeving with some surgical scissors... They work fine but do still stick out a fair way. Would not recommend these for working out, they definitely are not sweatproof.

iotttThanks! I'm mostly looking to use them while commuting, and the seal from the ER3 should be sufficient to keep them in place.

SubFuzeYep, should work fine. I had the issue some people mentioned here with a dodgy MMCX connector... at some angles the audio would cut out. Today received a Macaw TE10 headset I ordered off joybuy a couple weeks ago which is playing nice with the Etys and my devices. Also had to remove some plastic on these but the connector definitely fits much more securely. Right now would recommend ordering those if you can wait given they are also a fair bit cheaper. I've found actually having the cable go over your ear seems to feel most comfortable on both these and the MEE's, just need some tension on the cable at the back so the cable will stay over your ear.
