Mine arrived today. Great unboxing, I forgot they came with a case, so to see the hard case was a nice surprise. Stock comfort is great, they feel solid, yet are light. Ear pad are not great, perhaps they'll break in, or I'll got for some aftermarkets. I honestly thought they were on ear at first until I read a few reviews saying they are over ear. They did have a strong plastic smell, so might be worth airing them for a bit.
Sound quality is good. I'm perhaps unfairly comparing them to Philips SHP9500s, AKG 7XXs and Beyer DT1350s, but even comparing them to Soundblaster Jams ($30) I feel they come up a little short, but blow away older yet similarity priced headsets like the Jabra Move Wireless. Bass is there in a big way with everything hidden behind a big thick veil. The IF review is pretty much spot on.
Just using them at work, they are easy to put on and forget about. This is perhaps where the veil helps. Nothing fatiguing, light weight, no cables, it's just the cheap stock ear pads holding them back.
I tested with an iPhone 7 Plus and a Macbook Pro. iPhone sounds good, but the Macbook is noticeably better thanks to aptX, I did have to play with mic settings to ensure aptX worked properly. I do notice the on ear volume controls only control internal volume, not the system volume like all other headsets I've used. This is both iPhone and Mac, but could be related to Apples bluetooth profile support (or lack of) Play, pause and skip all work as expected. Yet to test call quality.
EDIT: Looking at pads. I'll probably grab the HM5 Velour for breathability and a slight reduction in bass.

craingerI just received some Brainwavz memory foam earpads today and they make a huge difference in overall comfort. Highly recommended.
You're definitely right about the bass tone. I think after a few days I'm starting to learn to ignore it, and the aftermarket earpads definitely make them comfortable enough for continuous wear.
I also noticed today that these appear to have much more solid signal reception from the Macbook Pro than other similar products I've tried. I can walk around my apartment and the stream only clips out a bit when I go around my refrigerator. Other similar-spec products I've had would become intermittent as soon as I cleared the door of my office.

craingerlet me just check that for you....hehe yeah it makes for a squeeze but they can squish in there and zip up without too much hassle. they are definitely much bigger than the stock pads, height/width/thickness wise. i like this style of case but i am a little disappointed there isn't really a place for the cables or manual at all, just gotta pack them in loose.

deesThanks, just ordered some velour and leatherette pads. Brainwavz are a bit funny on Amazon and don't ship all kinds to Australia for some reason otherwise I would have gotten the hybrids as well. It is a shame about the cables, but they are common enough I already have some I travel with for battery banks and connecting to .5mm jacks in hotel rooms. Not that I'll really travel with these. I'll probably go for the Wireless Momentums with ANC for that.

craingerJust an update. HM5 pads arrived. Put on the velour pads and it's an amazing improvement. Less boom on the bass, lifting the veil slightly and they are perfectly comfortable now. Leather pads are just as comfortable but keep a lot of the bass intact. So if you plan to use these on the go, go with leather, desk or home or you just love bass go with velour. Although keep in mind you are spending $20-40 on a $55 headset.

craingerthanks for the followup. it hadn't occurred to me that velour pads would substantially alter the sound compared with leather. i'll have to grab some of those to try also (since i'm gonna keep buying these earpads for any new headset anyway).
