For anyone interested, this is what these phones are (taken from the desription): 1) affordable 2) sports-style and 3) enhanced bass earphones. Nothing more, nothing less.
As long as you get a good seal around your ear canal (ie use the biggest pair of round tips to start with), you will get a pair of phones that are clear and affordable. Besides the prominent bass, expect meh mids and ok highs (according to my standards). For workouts, shopping and all-around go-out-and-about listening, these are brilliant. 12-dollar brilliant, but still brilliant. They don't pretend to be more than that.
Don't expect a studio monitor with accurate presentation, wide soundstage, resolution and all that good stuff. Don't wear these to enjoy your classical music while sipping your whiskey in front of the fireplace at night, there are other headphones to do that. Just put your workout music on (hopefully something bassy) and enjoy.
ATTENTION: If you don't get a good seal, these are horrible. I mean, really bad. The bass disappears, so the phones lose their selling point: the beat that is needed in a sports-style pair of earphones. So make sure you use the tips that seal good and not just fit in your ear.
I've been using these for quite some time with my rockboxed sansa clip+. I mostly listen to metal (double bass drumming can be overwhelming but low end guitars sound so massive \m/), a little hard rock and a bit of electronic. And I'm really happy with them.
