Stamped, not forged steel. Should I care at this price?

I'm a knife lover, started as a meat cutter in 1984 (and I still have all of those knifes I cut my teeth on), but I just don't find value in these knives. Some of my knives are pretty spendy and I use them. My point is that I bought a $17 set of "Tramontina" knives from Costco that included a Santoku knife that looks identical to the Santoku that's being advertised for $20 but included 4 other knives in that set, and the Costco set was made in Brazil (I'll never buy any product that contacts my food that's made in China, generally Chinese products are shit in my book - several of my friends of mine are Chinese and they don't either).
The Costco product is pretty much identical to what's being offered here for a lot less coin. I'm just not seeing a deal here.

ChefLoudSorry for the late reply, had to deal with a death in my family. I read. I'm Portuguese, family's from Lisbon. I started cutting meat in 1984, I think I know my way around the industry and a knife. I'm a materials engineer now. I don't know how many times I've been to Portugal. What I do know - I've visited several knife shops in Porto and Lisbon, so many times I've seen billets of steel with Chinese labels on pallets in the knife shops I've visited over the years - a reason I pass on the cheap Portuguese knives.
No offense, but there are pretty much zero restrictions on the "Made In" requirements in EU countries. "Made In" is and has been interchangeable with "Finished In" for around 20 years. There's too many products "made in" the EU that had components made in China and assembled in EU countries but had the "Made In" label slapped on it. I import products from several EU countries now, mainly SS and carbon fiber-based products, and the material certifications match up perfectly with Chinese-made materials.
Yes, the Portuguese mine a lot of iron ore and refine a lot of steel - most of it is industrial grade, almost none of their steel is what we'd find in a decent billet of SS or carbon steel. Even as a Portuguese son, "Made in Portugal" pretty much means nothing to me. Next time, don't be so damned snarky unless you can back up your assertion.
