255 in this last purchase and it will soon be a month since the order.
"Appx 10 days from the end of the drop." The last UPDATE was 11 days ago. Looks like you're gonna miss the mark again.
Newsflash ... people don't give half a crap about saving 6 bucks ($23.99 + $1.99 Shipping = $25.98 vs $31.95 almost anywhere) when it takes this long to receive product. Yes, you'll pull people in for one or two buys, but long term repeat buyers? Unlikely.
Three buys in and you've lost me. The 'savings' offered by this site is:
a) Minimal. Any Google Shopping search will return similar, if not, in some cases, better prices. (examples - iOttie, Lexar Flash Drive)
b) Hardly worth the terrible shipping times.
c) Offset by the terrible service and lack of communication provided by Massdrop.
This is not an issue with Magic Flight. I've personally had a service issue resolved since this order was placed and an additional order filled (by Magic Flight) that was placed after receiving such great service (from them).
255 Units sold this time, X number who have signed up to be notified when it's available again and it STILL takes this long? And I get to pay $1.99 for the privilege!?!
If MD is absolutely stuck on this whole "Bulk order to us, we'll process individual shipment" business model, then buyers need to be proficient enough to negotiate a cost (to MD) that will provide a) customers a perceived savings to put value on the longer shipping times b) MD the revenue to meet projected margins. In addition, the warehouse needs to be properly managed/staffed to get the bulk orders separated and shipped within a reasonable amount of time. Maybe when the Logistics Manager is hired things will change. I've yet to have any order received in the "Estimated 10 business days from fulfillment center receipt" time frame. (A ludicrous statement as it is an estimation (guess) based on a variable no customer can evaluate (receipt by fulfillment center)).
If you've read previous comments I've made in other threads, you would find that I'm not anti-MD in any way. In fact, I quite like the concept of (what used to be) crowd-sourced products, purchased en masse, providing a savings to customers; especially in the luxury audiophile and 18+ lines. Unfortunately the destination isn't worth the journey.
This isn't a vent based on 1 order, but rather 100% of my orders.
What is the threshold for dissatisfied customers before someone takes action?
