I bought on impulse this because I love my Microplane graters.
The blade is sharp and it provides nice clean cut in minimal footprint. It is also super easy to clean up compared to a regular mandolin.
But this comes with a huge sacrifice. The blade are non adjustable, so if the thickness is too thick or too thin for your application then you're pretty much out of luck. Luckily the the provided height works for many dishes. I found myself reaching for a regular mandolin much less. (though I still do have to from time to time.)
My main gripe would be the grip. The mandolin will cut into the plastic grip. This is just bad design, after long use the grip lost most its' teeth and now function more of a handguard and I still can't go all the way because the grip can flex and the blade will still cut into what's left of the teeth.
Do I enjoy this product? pretty much.
Will I recommend it to a friend? No.
junk. I WOULD NOT recommend this to any of my friends. The ergonomics of this is terrible! I would much rather just take out a sharp knife and try my luck free hand than use this slicer
