AnzialI wouldn't take that as gospel. They've announced events and such on Business Insider and speculated as to the purpose of them before. Until it is out, I wouldn't count it as such, especially as they just released the Surface Laptop, and this would undercut that release. Add to that the fact that this exact same article (verbatim) is posted on several news outlets, and it appears not news as much as a plant. But time will tell.
AnzialApparently not:
Does that mean there's a new fifth-generation Surface Pro on the way soon? "When it's meaningful and the change is right, we'll put it on market," he said of the still-hypothetical next Surface Pro. "Meaningful change isn't necessarily a hardware change, which is what a lot of people look for. They're like, 'Where's the latest processor?' That's not what I mean. I'm looking for an experiential change that makes a huge difference in product line." Examples he cites include making big strides in battery life or dropping the weight significantly, rather than just upgrading the processing power.
"You'll see that same meaningful impact when Pro 5, or Pro Next hits the market," Panay said, quickly qualifying that, "there's no such thing as a Pro 5."

ChomiqWho cares about PRO 5. This drop is for regular Surface 3 which is no longer in production and that guy says nothing about its replacement which might be what is going to be announced on May 23. Besides, it's obviously a bad idea to leak any specific info ahead of time or Surface sales will suffer even more then they are already suffering.
ChuckDeeI actually never mentioned Pro in my posts but all the same, you were wrong about no new surface being announced. It was announced and as I suspected, it was called differently from Pro 5, but it is new and makes this drop look like ancient history, surface 3 is about half as slow as new Pro and has less than half of the battery life. Price is higher, true, but surface 3 was about 1/3 more expensive new as well.
