How leak-proof is this? I ride my bicycle to work and need this to not leak when it's tilted.

The Bento lunch box is perfect for a person that needs to have meals prepared and ready on the go. I love that it has two separate compartments to keep the different foods. I can have a salad in one and a main dish in the other. Having the knife and fork right with the container is a bonus as I now use it daily and pack for snacks in the car and also veggies to be not only economical but to ensure I am eating well. I will be buying another box for My niece as she has started a new job, and needs to be able to eat at her desk. I am very pleased with my purchase and also how easy it is to wash up.

This product is well designed and sturdy. I am very pleased with the quality and it's great that it packs down into itself for storage - as I have two now, and rather limited space. I find the Minimal to be an excellent sized lunch box for my work lunches. I usually put a big green salad in the bottom, and put meat or cheese on the top. Sometimes, I have a full-sized sandwich, cut in half, fits perfectly in the bottom section. Then I'll put some chips and veggies on the top. Or pasta salad on the bottom, and green salad and some chopped veggies go on top. There are so many possibilities! The biggest raves have been that: 1) This entire thing is microwave and dishwasher safe, YAY! 2) It fits true portion sizes. I am actively trying to eat better, and focus on whole foods, and I appreciate the limitations presented by Minimal.  3) It's fun to pack your own lunch! Be creative, have some fun, enjoy the task... :-)

Picked up 4 for weekly meal prep. 1 of the lids came cracked. Not sure what to do about that. YMMV but I might just buy direct from minimal next time.

Amazon is not vert kind in it’s s reviews although the reviews are worthless. What bugs me is that they advertise it as BPA free, which is an odd comment for something made out of corn husks although apparently that is only 40% of the content. 60% rest is a mystery. Alas, it appears product contains up to 20% plastic. Just bc of the risk it being made in China, given Chineses’ companies record of mixing all short of shit into their products (i.e., formaldehyde in baby milk, lead paint on baby toys.....), I’l pass. I’ll play it safe, Stainless steel for me

RoocerSorry that my response isn't an answer, however, I'd seen these and am interested too. I'm surmising they're made somewhere in China and/or India. Boxes like this made from wheat chaff have been available for years, I've seen them in H-Mart and Uwajimaya and they're made in China. Most of the "companies" that sold them were subsidiaries of Nexten Pro, a product reseller (read: importer and wholesaler) - gotta love Google! I copied this bit verbatim from Nexten's web site, no edits from their About Us page: "We also understand the frustration of lots of businesses with in north America of finding the right products and also the right suppliers to get them. Going oversea is not the case for everyone. At Nexten, we are proud of our capability to connect the west and the East, helping our customers bring the right products to their warehouse." Always fun for me to read hacked-up and non-proofed language, former tech writer here. I'm guessing with the typos and the "west to East" bit, made in China... :( Over and out.
