DIY Light Painting
The beginner-friendly MiniPOV 4 kit allows you to design your own persistence-of-vision and light-painting effects. Complete with full-color RGB lights and USB programmability, it takes only an hour or two to complete using the detailed tutorial, depending on your previous soldering experience. During the process, you’ll solder about 30 components onto the custom PCB kit—starting with the easier parts and working your way up to the more challenging ones, so you can learn as you go. Once finished, you’ll have a small battery-powered kit that you can wave to create light trails. Pair it with a camera with a medium-long exposure to create light paintings, and plug it into your computer’s USB port to create and upload your own designs.
Note: This drop is for a kit of parts. Some basic tools are required for assembly, including a soldering iron, multimeter, solder, flush diagonal cutters, wire strippers, and three AAA alkaline or rechargeable batteries.
