I've also owned this mouse for a few months now, and it is one hell of a mouse. It was a little tricky to silence the omron switches, but is not impossible with some patience and focus. The feet are quite slick. I only wish I knew how to silence the side switches, because I personally like a near-silent mouse.
It has a very nice fully rubberized-grip texture, and does not slip under the most humid/sweaty conditions. The only downside to this is that, if you do not wipe it scrupulously, there will be a shade of grease-stain showing where your hand usually makes contact on the mouse. I haven't owned any other rubberized textured mouse like this before, so I'm not sure if that's common.
If you do some digging around overclock forums, you'll hear praises from all styles of grippers. I'm a fingertip gripper, play mostly MMO, FPS and RTS, and and it fits the bill much better than my previous MMORPG palm gripper.
Use a cloth pad. I'm waiting for the Hayabusa as I use my dated no-name cloth pad. This will stray and ghost-track with the hard surface of the Propus 380 (made for laser sensors).
How did you silence it??
manually dismantle it. try not to lose anything / keep area contained. same method for any mouse with omron switches. I was unable to get the clicky side-buttons and middle two buttons, however.
