This is tempting, but between the orange stripe and the fact that I know I won't be able to resist the next M10-A drop, I'm gonna pass.

TelFiREIf the M10-A didn't have such a terrible failure rate, that'd probably be a good call. I would stay as far away as possible from them until they work out the issues. Amazing packaging and clever design, but sounds like a lot of them are DOA.

BrannyDOA, partial working boards and major programming issues. Look it up on this site and read the discussion page. Tons of faults. He'll work it out, I'm sure, but the first run was less than optimal.

BrannyOh, so you were trying to be sarcastic. Okay. Sorry, thought you actually didn't understand that things weren't working correctly and a lot of people couldn't use the thing they paid for. Just search in page "paperweight" and I think you'll get the gist.
If a keyboard cannot be used to input (which as an input device, I would consider important), I would consider it DOA. But yes, by definition they weren't dead (but as an item that must be programmed to fully utilize, if it isn't programmable...well...), they were terribly crippled and locked in a catatonic state where only a certain percentage were able to bring out. Better? Not sure why the differentiation is so important, but they aren't working as advertised. Hope that clarified what I was trying to convey.
If you need some instances, here's some direct comments: backonaroll7Follow 14w Is there ANY update on when Configurator is going to be updated? Three different computers I've tried this on. Nothing works. Windows 10: Hardware does not show up as described in the manual. Hardware does not accept provided driver. Mini Pad does not connect. Mac OSX El Captain: Mini Pad does not connect. Installed the additional components here. Mini pad does not connect. Mac OSX 10.8.5: Software not compatible with this operating system build. I've done dozens of keyboard builds and have never had such problems with keyboard firmware before. Gen27Follow 16w Just got mine and I've hit the same issue many seem to be having, not being able to connect to the configurator. I'm on Windows 7 at the moment. I have another PC that is on Windows 10. I will try it on there in a few hours to see how it goes. However on Windows 7 it does recognize it, I hear the little chime it makes when connecting over USB but after setting up the layers in the configurator and hitting the reset button no connection is established. Windows makes its chime that its disconnecting the device then plays another chime for connecting it. Hopefully this will be resolved soon. Are there other ways to program this device without the configurator? Update 4/25/17: I have tried it on my Windows 10 machine and had the same issue stated above.

BrannyAnd some people forget in the mk community, not everyone knows how to use QMK or even what it is. You are hardcore into keyboards, we shouldn't look down on those who don't, or we make a poor community. When it advertises an easy to use GUI...it's falling short of promises if that isn't an option and one needs to fall back to editing the firmware painstakingly. Again, not everyone knows how to use QMK. Messing with the firmware can be daunting, as if you do it wrong on many devices, you can brick your device. I get you love your M10-A (probably the best looking macro board ever made), but all I'm saying is that it has issues and I'd suggest waiting until those are proven to be ironed out. It's billed as a great starter build, for new or first time builders. How do you do per-key RGB lighting on a Shift V2?

I saw the online configurator that lets you do this on the Shift V1, where it spits out a compiled firmware file to flash. The V2 doesn't seem to have this function in the Windows configurator, though. I can't imagine the answer here is "you're going to have to manually write the hex for every key in QMK, compile it, and flash that".
