GIJasonA sealed magic product years after its release should be expected to be close to MSRP.

UranusWhich would be a valid and relevant point if it couldn't be had from multiple vendors for 15-20 cheaper shipped to my door in three days. But it can, so this drop, like most sealed magic product on this site, is a joke.

GIJasonSay that then. That's valid criticism. "I'm mad because it's MSRP" is not.

UranusExcept that anyone who knows anything about this set or Magic in general woud immediately recognize that paying MSRP for this product is, indeed, the joke, and would not need it explained to them... So maybe this joke is not the joke for you.

GIJasonLemme elaborate then - it was a sarcastic statement boiling down to "I'm mad that this is MSRP" but a product being MSRP isn't a negative quality. Then you said you could get it cheaper elsewhere - that's valid criticism. There are dozens of actually good deals on Massdrop that are MSRP and people still comment "MSRP? I thought this was supposed to be a deal!"

UranusMaybe that's because when you're a website whose business model is offering cheap deals based on many people placing a simultaneous order with a distributor to allow regular people to purchase an item at a significant discount, you should not be able to find said product for less money plus immediate shipping at mutiple retailers. It is astounding that a company can sponsor professional Magic players, but not be able to offer a good deal on Magic product. If anything, it draws attention to this fact, as people who are unfamiliar with MassDrop but check it out through Pro Tour related advertising will likely leave and never return when the only "deals" present are laughable.

GIJasonSo true. MSRP cannot be $240. I opened three booster boxes and never made more then $180 on the pulls... probably less then that based on the prices of the cards dropping.

xstortionistSealed, out of print booster boxes are priced at approx 150% EV. That's how this works.
