Is anyone having issues getting the alarm to go off? Maybe it's just me... Have it set to whenever, and pulled out the "alarm crown" but nothing went off..

I talked about that design with my Swiss stepbrother once. Actually, its an iconic design that all Swiss know and love because it is the standard train station clock design. Apple even tried to rip them off by copying this look in one of their apple watch face. You're really paying for the design and not much for the quartz inside. I guess it would make for a really good souvenir for people who travelled there, or to offer to your switzerland-loving husband/wife But 269$ is quite hard to swallow, even for a swiss product.

Wow so much hate on this watch... I love the design of this one, I joined. I think it's awesome. Sure, probably a little much for a quartz but we've all seen fancy designed watches go up there in cost. And it does include an alarm? Plus to the comment about how stuff will get caught in the band... That may happen, but it uses the standard nato strap from the looks of it, which is readily available for really cheap?
To each his own of course, but damn I love the design, so I'm in!

does the second hand go around in 55 seconds and stop at 12 for 5 seconds like the proper railway clocks?

wade0No, those are called "stop to go", and they run around $700 I think.

I really don't see how this watch could be worth $300..

That's what I was thinking. $300 for a quartz watch with a mineral crystal? I really like Mondaine watches, but their quartz models are often in the low $100 range on other discount sites. This appears to be a new model, and the alarm feature is novel, but still...

p3dalThe strap doesn't look that great either for the price. I can also imagine all kinds of stuff (dead skin, dried sweat) getting caught in the crevices.
If you like it in black better and are patient you can get it at http://www.revolveclothing.com/mondaine-evo-alarm-40mm-in-black-black/dp/MONR-UW3/?d=Womens
