In 1944, Hans Hilfiker, a Swiss engineer, designed what would go on to become the Official Swiss Railway Clock, which featured an easy-to-read dial with large black stick markers and a bright red second hand. About 40 years after the clock’s debut, the Mondaine watch company received official license from the Swiss Federal Railways to use this iconic design. Today, it’s a watch recognized around the world—a tribute to Switzerland’s history of watchmaking.
Note: This drop is limited to 50 watches.
The Evo Automatic is one among many Mondaine watches to showcase this celebrated design. It’s equipped with a 40-millimeter case made entirely from stainless steel, plus a Sellita SW220-1 automatic movement. Included on the iconic dial is a partitioned date window at the 3 o’clock position, displaying both the date and day of week. A slightly domed mineral crystal protects the dial, while a black leather strap rounds off the Evo’s minimal look. Turn the watch over for a peek at the Swiss automatic movement through the display caseback.
