I must agree with warp. I have one of these, and paid about retail for it. $480 is a steal. I think this the most appealing version of the Mondaine face. It is very clean in that it has no date. It has a sapphire crystal, where most of their watches don't.
But besides its unique movement, another aspect not mentioned here, is that even though it's quartz, the second hand moves about 4 beats per second. So, while not as smooth as most mechanicals, it's a lot smoother than normal 1 beat per second quartz watches.
As for failure rate - I believe that was an earlier version that was somewhat redesigned before I bought mine a year ago. I've had no problems.
If you like the iconic Swiss railway style, this is a great example.
