Just received my monitor and got it running today. Wanted to give my two cents:

1) I was worried--legitimately so--about potentially receiving a broken monitor. I even opened up the package while I was at UPS to make sure it was okay. No dents, scratches, or shattering; I'll count myself lucky compared to some of the other stories I've read.

2) I used the dual-link DVI cable and have had no issues with how the image on the monitor showed up. I generally recommend staying away from HDMI for monitors if you can as I've had many of the issues others below have described ("black bars" around the edges, etc.) when trying to use HDMI for a monitor.

3) The video source selection is a little bit odd compared to most other TVs or monitors i've used. You first push the "source" button then use the arrow buttons to select your video source (vs. just repeatedly selecting "source"). Not really a big deal, just a quirk I thought I would mention.

4) The brightness. Yes, it's bright. It's undeniably bright, however there are plenty of good (and free) software controllers for screen brightness on both Mac and PC. I'm currently using the Mac partition of my computer, so I found "Shades" to do the trick for me. I've attached a couple photos to give an example of the before and after of playing with the brightness via software. Sorry about the quality, but I couldn't focus the camera on the monitor or it would throw off the image exposure.

Hope this helps.

Before: http://imgur.com/dYy8k0w,SBpDOCo
After: http://imgur.com/dYy8k0w,SBpDOCo#1
