Product Description
Take on the role of a powerful monster and destroy citiscapes in Monsterpocalypse. This miniatures game is inspired by traditional kaiju (monster) flicks and features similar mechanics to other Matt Wilson minis games like Warmachine and Hordes Read More
Requires two base games for these to be useful. Base games are currently ~$100 because they are out of print and the new version of the game won't support these pieces. Waste of money.
well They have decided to remake this great game THIS FALL These pieces cant be used in events as the scale is changing BUT its still a great game! these can be a refresher or a cheap starting point for players :) Im in for 2 lots!
So, I got the Voltron set years ago, which from what I understand is generally the same rules?
How compatible are these for giving Voltron some Robeasts to fight? :)
Well, one of my blind boxes arrived completely empty other then the packing material. Privateer press said they can't replace it since they no longer have stock. Buy at your own risk
These boosters are random pulls, I assume? What I mean is, they are not all the same exact booster repeated. I joined a drop on these a few weeks ago, and I'd like to keep building my collection.
I suppose they would have to be random if they were simply pulling them out of cases.
MRex21You are correct they are random except the accessory kits and the map pack. It is a great value still for the remaining boosters included but your will be getting extra of the items include in kits and map pack. Lucky two government buildings are good for two players.
BigMackenzieAMJacker@mac.com I'll send pictures. it's a lot of minis, maps, rulebooks, dice, etc. 95% series 1. Mostly still in the little mini plastic bags.
Complete ripoff, this is not a playable game with the parts included.
It says clearly " This drop includes everything needed to play a full game of Monsterpocalypse. "
It does not. On every box it states"REQUIRES STARTER SET TO PLAY".
bruce.reVanDiesel is correct. Everything that makes the starter necessary is included in the map pack and accessory packs (maps, health trackers, dice). The only important thing not included in this lot is the rulebook which is a free download.
Would two of these drops give me enough actual options as a good standalone 2 player game? Seems like a fun option for my board game collection. Also rule book says you can team up any unit with a monster regardless of faction, and there’s a harmony between certain teams for monster team ups according to the manual... or maybe I’d want 3. This just seems like an awesome monster ga for my collection
@MikeM75
eVanDieselWell I read The manual and there are six factions however you can use units with any monster regardless of faction and. Each faction has two sympathetic factions that your monster can team up with now each monster box has the standard in hyper version of the monster or two buildings now I’m gonna guess it’s a 50-50 chance would you get either one I’ll hopefully a little higher in the monsters than the building side. So let’s assume you wind up with four unique monsters ads are at least you’ll get a pair or two between them of sympathetic monsters so it should balance out well unless five boxes of buildings that would stink
This seems like a strange setup. I used to play the game when it first came out, and don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic game. I am very tempted to jump back into it, but this setup does not seem like it would give you a full 'team' to play with. I think you'd need multiple purchases of this bundle to be able to play a full game, just like any other collectible game.
You don't really need the full 15 units per player. Most of the time you'll only ever use about 6 units per game, and those don't have to be from the same faction. Any unit can be paired with any monster, though there is a benefit if they are the same agenda (not necessarily faction).
There are two factions per agenda, and if you try to spawn a unit from an agenda that's different than your monster you have to spend one extra die, so there is a downside. If your collection of units isn't deep enough you and your partner can just ignore this rule and draft units at the beginning of the game.
