As I’ve said before, I have one (a gift)—it’s no big deal, just a pen. And if anyone tries to tell you this or that ballpoint or rollerball "writes nice", remember the only thing that touches the paper is the refill—everything else is hype and ego.

RayFNot sure about that - I write with nice pens (from $1 to $600) and I purchased them for my very own personal pleasure of owning and writing with them. Give a flying fart what others think. Luxury items can also be bought for pure personal enjoyment. And by definition luxury is hardly ever "worth it"... Am challenging your refill story a bit, it is very important but the balance, weight and comfort of a pen is also important. You wouldn't say to a car: the only thing that touches the road is the tires. :-)

With me and Montblanc, it's fountain or nothing. I was about to splurge... Too bad, so sad. I'll be watching.
Sure it doesn't seem worth it, what Montblanc is? But it's at a discount and it's a real montblanc, plus it looks pretty great, buy it if you really want to.
