I received pen and unfortunately it is not smooth writer as all my other high end pens are. I had to visit nib meister immediatey to adjust the nib as it skipped constantly despite cleaning, change of ink and similar.
Actually I have other Montegrappa pens with gold nibs and this one was the first one where out of the box writing was horrible experience (maybe I got the rotten apple or was lucky with previous purchases).
Look of celluloid is gorgeous and I can not complain in this segment but unfortunately fit and finish is not. Cap does not align properly so ink dries to quckly. Since I have lots of pens in rotation and this one is not one of my preferred writers this can be a problem for me.
I guess it is a buy of a century if you manage do get properly performing pen. My unfortunately is not.
P.S. Due to cap issues I started using pen a lot because I do not want it to finish forgotten in some of my drawers. Maybe this is Montegrappa's aim with clumsy cap ;)

sunyi1130After the adjustment at "nib meister" it writes better but there are still some ocassional slips. Nib has very small "sweet spot" and it is irritating. I am using high flow wet ink and different type of paper and it somehow solves the problem but would definitely not use the pen for signature or short fast notes.
