REI reviews are old-ish. More recent reviews on YouTube are soundly positive. Was going to order—but Canada has slapped retaliatory tariffs on goods bought in the US and shipped to Canada. The operative word here being: Retaliatory. So much for Massdrop for Canadians. Maybe we’ll shop you again around 2021; assuming we canucks haven’t built a wall by then.
I am not sure why this jacket got such poor reviews on REI. I own a version of this jacket from 2 years ago. Incredibly light and soft and comfortable. The jacket has done well for me in some moderate rain conditions. My only gripe was that you can't adjust the hood as easily, no synch point on the back of the neck. So the jacket works well with a helmet, but not as well when just want to cover you head. You pull draw strings on sides on neck, but for a good hood you need three synch points. I also have the plasmic from MH, which I like better. But at this price point, it is a solid jacket. Great for backpacking
