This looks similar to the Big Agnes Three Forks Shelter. Anyone able to confirm?
Just an fyi - I have this. It is awesome, lightweight, and much more compact than other options. It comes with extra guy lines for stability in wind, and even includes the stakes for the extra guy lines. It comes with a single panel, but you can buy additional panels here: https://mountainsmith.com/mountain-shade-dome-accessory-panel.html Seems they are out of stock at the moment, but trust me, if a bunch of people ask for it, they will get more. Also, if you need to, it is really easy to reposition after assembling, just by removing the stakes. I didn't use the stakes until the wind picked up, and just moved the panel as needed. The panel takes a minute to move. If you were really creative and good with a sewing machine, the panel is simple enough that you could use it as a pattern for bug screening.
Does anyone know how big the actual covered area is? The corners seem to reach out to 10'x10' feet, but the roof looks closer to 8'x8' or 7'-6"x8'.

I would say that your estimates are pretty accurate. I would say the middle coverage area is probably 7 or 8 square, when you take into account the slope of the sides. Better for shade than I thought it would be and I feel it is more than adequate, but if you are worried about rain, you will be safe if you assume 7 x 7. I pitched this last weekend, and was pleasantly surprised. It is much better than previous ones I have used. Combined with the fact that they do provide a shade panel for one side, (and you can buy more directly from their website) it really does a great job. I am going to get an extra panel, (to account for moving sun) but I like this much better than an easy-up or other more expenisve options I have used in the past. Fairly lightweight (a little over 6lbs), easy to pitch (once you watch the youtube video) and much more compact than some other options. I didn't use the stakes during the day, but we got some really bad afternoon winds, which worried me. I used the stakes on the bottom, along with the provided additional guy lines (they include the stakes too) and it did really well. Won't stand up to 50mph winds, but no shade will....and the additional guy lines really helped with stability. The very middle is over 6 feet, but I am 5'9", and did have to bend a bit to get into it. Nothing that was bothersome, and I could stand up in the middle very, very comfortably. Another nice perk, is that I was able to put it up myself, and had no problem at all. Hope that helps, and feel free to ask additional questions.
The additional sun shade panels are OOS on the website.
Any chance the sun-shade panel can be included as an optional extra? Please?
2900 grams actual weight,
How much is this going for.. can’t find it.. looks awesome and lightweight!!
I was amazed by the 850g weight but it sounds too good to be true so I went the the official Mountainsmith site:
WEIGHT 6 lbs 6 oz / 2.9 kg (Packed)
Where did you get the 850g from, MD?!
Looks like shipping for this drop is 12.50 and you can buy an extra shade panel separately on Mountainsmith website for 14.95.
Anyone know what the shipping cost on this is?
As always I look to the comments section for similar product suggestions. Anyone have any other suggestions out there? This product seems pretty light as well.
Edit: Ok, well I did the leg work myself. This is the lowest price I could find online, and I even compared it to it's historical price on camelcamelcamel.com. Additionally, this thing seems pretty lightweight. Other comparable items can weigh up to 10 times the weight of this product. I'm in, I just hope it makes hit's the MOQ.
The video and description indicates it comes with one wall.
Boy, that’s light. I have a bigger one of another brand (Coleman I think) and it weighs multiple kg’s. Two walls are best, one doesn’t shade much, but it sounds like this only has one. Very nice to have adjacent to a tent.
