Was checking the net to find out how this 30 ounce Dome might possibly work- only to find that MOUNTAINSMITH lists the weight at over 6 lbs.
C’mon Drop, get the numbers right!
This looks very similar to Big Agnes Shelter, which despite its weight (very similar to the Shade Dome) has been awesome for sun and rain here in the Southwest for car camping and canoe trips. Highly recommend side panels for extra protection against all elements, including WIND!
Do secure this puppy with lotsa guylines and stakes if wind is in the forecast. Or enjoyit as a supersize kite.

Can someone provide more info for this specific drop? What does this drop include? Stakes? The wall? And is it really 30 oz or is that just the tarp with no poles or stakes?

Just an fyi - I have this. It is awesome, lightweight, and much more compact than other options. It comes with extra guy lines for stability in wind, and even includes the stakes for the extra guy lines. It comes with a single panel, but you can buy additional panels here: https://mountainsmith.com/mountain-shade-dome-accessory-panel.html Seems they are out of stock at the moment, but trust me, if a bunch of people ask for it, they will get more. Also, if you need to, it is really easy to reposition after assembling, just by removing the stakes. I didn't use the stakes until the wind picked up, and just moved the panel as needed. The panel takes a minute to move. If you were really creative and good with a sewing machine, the panel is simple enough that you could use it as a pattern for bug screening.

Does anyone know how big the actual covered area is? The corners seem to reach out to 10'x10' feet, but the roof looks closer to 8'x8' or 7'-6"x8'.

The0ldManI would say that your estimates are pretty accurate. I would say the middle coverage area is probably 7 or 8 square, when you take into account the slope of the sides. Better for shade than I thought it would be and I feel it is more than adequate, but if you are worried about rain, you will be safe if you assume 7 x 7. I pitched this last weekend, and was pleasantly surprised. It is much better than previous ones I have used. Combined with the fact that they do provide a shade panel for one side, (and you can buy more directly from their website) it really does a great job. I am going to get an extra panel, (to account for moving sun) but I like this much better than an easy-up or other more expenisve options I have used in the past. Fairly lightweight (a little over 6lbs), easy to pitch (once you watch the youtube video) and much more compact than some other options. I didn't use the stakes during the day, but we got some really bad afternoon winds, which worried me. I used the stakes on the bottom, along with the provided additional guy lines (they include the stakes too) and it did really well. Won't stand up to 50mph winds, but no shade will....and the additional guy lines really helped with stability. The very middle is over 6 feet, but I am 5'9", and did have to bend a bit to get into it. Nothing that was bothersome, and I could stand up in the middle very, very comfortably. Another nice perk, is that I was able to put it up myself, and had no problem at all. Hope that helps, and feel free to ask additional questions.
