Is this a pretty good deal? I don't know much about laptop gaming
leatherbarrelThis pretty much checks all the boxes for a good gaming laptop.
Intel i7 processor - Check (7th Generation) NVIDIA GTX 1060 Graphics with 6GB of Ram - Check 16GB Ram DDR4 2400MHz - Check (1 stick installed so easy to upgrade to 32GB later) 2X 512GB M.2 Solid State Hard drives - Check (can be setup in Raid if you want) 17.3" 120Hz refresh rate display - Check USB-C & USB 3.1 Ports - Check (4 total) plus many more bells and whistles like the RGB Custimizable, good onboard sound/speakers, both HDMI & MDP video out, bluetooth 4.2, and AC Wireless networking.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Cheers.

leatherbarrelIt's OK, I would expect Gtx 1070 at this price instead of GTX 1060. If all you want is gaming then consider the one that cost $850 looks better with GTX 1050 ti
thatsoomohitPlease share a link where you can get the specs of this laptop with a 1070 in it for this price. Not going to happen.
thatsoomohitTrade offs?
MSI 120hz VS Asus 75hz MSI 2x 512 M.2 SSD with raid capabilities VS Asus 128GB SSD MSI 16GB Ram VS Asus 12GB Ram Processor is the same. MSI is $1399.99 VS Asus $1799.99 (cheapest online new) The $1329.99 price on Amazon for the Asus GL702VS-AH73 which you linked is used not brand new in the box.
So basically you can pay $400 more and yes you would have a 1070 but every other spec you loose.

thatsoomohiti mean, i'm ok with some tradeoffs on specs. I really get that I'd have to drop more coin for a top-tier gaming laptop and at that point it'd be more cost-effective to build a tower rig. I'm used to console gaming so I don't think I'm gonna lose my mind if my pc can't run Crysis in 4k at 60fps. I do appreciate the other link though!
thatsoomohitBetter display is kind of subjective here. Do you prefer 17.3 at 120hz or 15.6 at 144hz.
Also I'm pretty sure the Helios have light bleed issues.
Great specs for the price though.
thatsoomohitAcer components not in the same ballpark as MSI
