FYI: the email I received regarding this item states a 144hz refresh rate in the description.
So I get an email this morning about this drop. Visit the drop and is marked as inactive. Seems like wires crossed somewhere. Why send out the email?
The good news is that this monitor would probably work with new nvidia drivers that allow freesync. At least one user on Reddit says it works perfectly. https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/ahbovj/high_refresh_rate_freesync_ultrawide_compatability/eee42kt Although I'd buy it elsewhere, it goes for $400 fairly frequently at the likes of BhP and Newegg. With the history of delayed shipping on this monitor at MD, chances are good for that deal coming up again.
(Edited)
So the last work day of the 6th week is over from last drop and its shipping delay, my monitor is still not here. DHL isn't responding so I hit up support here so they dig up about it, couple back and forth mails where my actual message gets misread, they tell me that my package turned out to have been RETURNED to them, without them even being aware of it? Most likely at the time the tracking number stopped working but they never bothered to tell me about it it seems or even knew themselves. 6 weeks of waiting for nothing.
Nimus
Yeah, same thing happened to me once when I ordered an umbrella. Never could get MD to explain what the heck happened.
Never request this drop again, just wasting your time.
Word of warning to potential buyers: purchased this with the last drop on October 28th and after a very lengthy delay it finally shipped on December 10th. Edit: After waiting for the full six week shipment period (at Massdrop support's request), I too never received the monitor. I seem to have run into the same DHL issue that others ran into. Here is part of my support ticket that explains the issue: "Based on the information we've received from DHL, there was an issue delivering your package, possibly due to an incorrect address, and it has been returned to sender.

While the package was delivered successfully to our warehouse, it appears that it was not successfully returned to our inventory. When we place an order for a drop, we only place it for the exact number of units sold. After double checking our inventory, it looks like we don’t have any inventory available to offer as a replacement. " I've never had a problem with packages getting delivered before so this is definitely a first. Can't say that I'm not a little disappointed, but my refund was processed quickly so thanks to Massdrop for that at least.

Me too, this is ridiculous
Gr0v3
Yeah, still waiting here as well. Contacted support and they just hit me with the standard "It'll take 3-6 weeks for your package to arrive" while completely ignoring the part where I said I can't even track it anymore lol. It's only been a month so I guess I have to hope that it'll magically appear in the next 2 weeks!
(Edited)
Price is disappointing, I purchased it for way less in November. I was hoping to get another one if it was cheap enough. Very good monitor, not perfect but a huge upgrade over 34" 75Hz LG.
PSA: b&h has this for $345 through 11/26 with free 3 day shipping and if you're outside the NY area no tax. It's not in stock but you can lock in the price. They also have amazing customer service and if it comes in stock before 12/5 they're delaying the shipment and payment for me to ensure my Christmas bonus hits.

Shows up at 479 to me this exact model, guess discounts over.
Anyone has any information about the delay?
SlaveByChoice
I haven't received any news, just a support ticket saying updates would be posted here.
Like the monitor so far, but no VESA is a huge disappointment.

apperently if you buy adapter
dmitriyk
Do you know which adapter you need?
I received mine last week, and over all its a really nice monitor. However, the the monitor keeps making crackling sounds when its turned on. Is anyone else experiencing that?

Hello. Apologies for the late reply. We were just made aware of this issue and would like to offer our support. If you have not created a support ticket yet. Please reach out to us at USTeam01@MSI.com
I have had mine now for over 2 months and never had any crackling noises, did not get it through the drop though. No issues with it at all no dead pixels no bleed. Got it on a better deal here in Canada then I could through the drop.
I received mine today. Looks great. No dead pixel. colors look great. I can notice a small amount of light leak on the side edges. My only major complain is that the specs say that it has VESA mount and as far as i can tell I see no way to do that.
Hargabyte
If you are still looking to do a VESA mount, I had a buy an adapter. I used the one that Viotek monitor uses. Works pretty great
Did it ship out? Wasn’t it supposed to by today? Also, its available on Newegg for $429 now :(

Just cancelled my order too. I’m just going to wait for Black Friday to pick up something for cheap now
I dont know how they could call this exclusive, the same time the drop became available I was able to buy it here in Canada through PC-Canada and had it to my door by Sept 27th, it cost me 649cdn +tx and free shipping was ended up being 70cdn cheaper then the drop due to exchange rate and shipping charges
So I went ahead and ordered this through PC-Canada, will have it Tomorrow Thur Sept 27th. Spent a total of 770Cdn for the monitor, this includes the %15 tax and environmental fee. Not sure when it is scheduled to ship through mass drop, but I can comment here if anyone likes on the quality of the monitor. I am no expert though, will be going from a 1080 24" Cheap Acer to this.

Yea lower center and it looks like a nose hair, drives my OCD crazy I constantly get the urge to wipe the screen lol. Grabbed it from Newegg, so fortunately the RMA is straightforward. It came without external packaging though, FEDex dude literally just gave me the monitor box as you would grab it from the store with no fragile stickers or anything, so I'm assuming it was possibly bumped or something. Did it come like that to you also? But yea, other than the pixel I'm liking it, very sweet deal.
Jest24
Hey did you ever get your replacement, if so how did it turn out. Shipping wise for myself it was in a very large brown box, with Styrofoam corners holding the MSI box dead center.
The inevitable MSI vs Vast comparison has come up, so to make things easier (for me, anyway) I put together a chart to show the advantages and disadvantages of each. I'll share an image, but in short the Vast comes out ahead in size, response time, brightness, and height adjust-ability while the MSI comes out ahead in price, contrast, and warranty. There are some other advantages, but these are the big ones, IMHO. See the chart for more.
One area of concern is the lack of reviews for the new MSI monitor, so I went to Newegg and tabulated all of the reviews from all of their MSI Gaming monitors and calculated a score of 3.99 (rounded). I know it's not the same, but it is the best we have right now. MSI gets pretty close, but not as god as, the roughly 4.2 of the Vast.
search
A side note to Massdrop. The overall dimensions of the Vast are not included in the description. A quick search for the word "dimensions" reveals 29 conversations with the request. Perhaps it is time to add the dimensions to the overview page.
Finally, I may have been under the wrong impression of optimal monitor height, which I espoused in an earlier post. Like many people, I believed that the mid-point of the screen should be at eye level while sitting and looking straight. This does not seem to be the recommended viewing height and angle. Several sites, including OSHA, recommend the top of the monitor at eye level, looking down 15º-20º with the monitor tilted up. I still believe that adjustable height is a very good thing to have, but it may not have been as critical as I once thought. Your ideal, however, may be much different.
I hope this helps.

Where did you find price information?
grethro
It was listed on the page. The drop ended at midnight last night.
I see no visual evidence of VESA mounting options in the available photos. This suggests to me that an adapter might be required. If so, then it is likely that the center-of-gravity of the display will be positioned further from the mount than is desirable (given its 15lb weight).
Does anyone know anything about this? @B.Hutch, can you comment?
Thanks,
- s.west
swest
I found it on the MSI website, and the VESA mount says:
MSI VESA Kit supports (optinal) 75x75mm or 100x100mm
So, I think I have my answer. Too bad... My previous experience has been that VESA adapters add a minimum of 1" (usually more) to the mounting offset. Also, I don't know that I have seen any that are completely rigid. They are usually a source of vibrational motion.
Also, since there's no mention of this option in the drop, I would conclude that there is probably no way to get it as part of this deal. Am I right?
Please correct any errors from above, as it relates to this Drop. @B.Hutch?
Thanks, again,
- s.west
This seems like the best bang for the buck in 21:9 displays without spending twice as much. The only drawback is the lack of any reviews. MSI makes quality products, and everything in this monitor makes sense, but it would be nice to see/hear from someone who got to put their hands on this before dropping half a grand on it.
jake.fuller
I dont think it has been released for sale yet. Any Place I see it for sale is back order or pre sale. We would have to wait a few weeks after this drop ends until we see it in the hands reviewers.
So for me it looks like I can order this through PC-Canada, even though they are on back order atm I can still place the order and would be charged when they get them in and not before. It looks like a better deal then this for me as I live in Canada. It would be 653cdn $10 shipping insurance and free shipping before 15% tax. While this drop would be 513usd after shipping fees which would be 669cdn before customs and brokerage fees. I am not sure what to do here.
1" smaller but $100 cheaper than Vast. Worth it?
(Sorry For My bad English) This is Chinese HKC OEM to MSI , And I test it with my i1 display pro it have SRGB 120% DCI-P3 85%
I got HKC C340 and I think it is same OEM to HKC NB34C/Viotek GN34C/Pixio PX347c It have some issue(HKC bad quality control)
I don't think this thing have Freesync LFC and origin Freesync range is 80-112 You can use CRU to change it to 40(or lower)-99

Is it same driver board(NT68394)like HKC NB34C?
Been wanting to make the jump to 3440x14040 right now I have the benq 35 144hz 2560x1080 would it be worth it My system could push this easy I7 7700k 16gig ram ddr4 3000 msi gaming trio 1080ti
This is tempting. I've seen mixed things about MSI monitors. It's either this, or waiting til Black Friday/Cyber Monday to get a crazy deal on the AW3418DW.
Artunius
If I knew that there would be a crazy deal on the AW3418DW, then I would wait too. It's a $1500 monitor (grossly overpriced) that is often on sale for $999 (still overpriced) and was recently $907 (still overpriced). What is a good deal for a similar monitor, but with top reviews from a company with top support?
Before this Drop, I was thinking $750 for the AW3418DW, but I just don't see the +$300 in added value. $450 for all of this is as much of a game changer as the $600 Vast was. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see the now $550 Vast drop another $50 as a result once the reviews for the MSI start coming in, assuming they are positive, that is.
I've been shopping for a monitor like this for a while. 34-35" ultra wide at 1440p. The best price I could find was for the Acer ED347CKR@$499.99. There is another Acer for $580 and then you fly past $700.
This appears to be a brand new monitor. I can't find anything about it online beyond MSI's site. My comments are limited to what I can read from their site vs. the research I have done looking for a monitor like this.
The good about this monitor at this price. Cheapest 1440p ultra wide by $50 and $100 less than the popular Vast 35" on Massdrop. Low blue light - many do not have this feature and research continues to point to blue light, particularly in dark environments, being bad for our eyes. Internal power cable. To each his own, but I hate power bricks, especially when they have to sit on my desk. VESA mounting that supports 75mm and 100mm. 1800R curve. If you are going to sit this on a desk and use it as a PC monitor, then this is really the optimum curvature for immersion. If you are going to be several feet away, then you might want to look for a gentler slope. HDMI2. There are a lot of HDMI 1.4 monitors out there.
The Fair 100Hz refresh. 144Hz is ideal, but good luck getting past 120Hz on 34" 1440p monitors. 100Hz puts this monitor squarely into the gaming category, but not at the top of the pack. That space belongs to Predators and Aliens and even they have to overclock to get there. 2 year warranty. It's not the best, but it is certainly not the worst.
The Bad No vertical stand adjustment. Yes, it supports VESA mount (that's good), but having to spend $50-$100 on a stand to provide the basic functionality of height adjustment negates the savings. Brightness. 250 nits seems common for MSI, but most of these monitors are 300 nits, including the Vast. Is 250 enough? Looking at MSI reviews, some say it is perfect, others too dark, others too bright so consider the brightness of the room in which it will reside and take with a grain of salt. Ship date of October 3. In recent years, the best Black Friday deals on these kinds of things come from Newegg in the weeks leading up to Black Friday. So, just how much less will this be than those top of the line monitors by the time you actually get it?
Personally, not that anyone asked, considering the positives and negatives, I would probably jump on this deal, if shipping happened in a week or two at the most. The negatives are few and minor and positives are great.
I hope this helps.

As far as "total" displayable real estate there's a trade-off as well.
My current 32" is 28" x 15.75"
The Optix 34 is 31.3" x 13.1"
That's actually 9% less total view able real estate on what is technically a "larger" monitor..
If you calibrated it to 6500k you will only get 220 nits (9300k in 270nits)
I have the monoprice 35in zero-G curved monitor and like it alot. Granted it is normally about $550 sometimes it will go on sale for $450 or somewhere inbetween. Granted I have only had it for about a month, it looks nice. I am not crazy about the buttons on the back of the monitor but they include a remote so that resolves that issue. As for this monitor on paper it looks just as good as other monitors in this price range. On the topic of VA panel, they seem to be a nice compromise between the color accuracy of IPS and the GTG ability and refresh rate of TN panels. If I hadn't already purchased my monitor I would of considered this one. I am considering adding two of their 27in monitors to my setup sometime in the future.

75x75 and 100x100 VESA mounting available.
Mastermung
Thanks, I missed it in the specifications.
The specs and price look good, but like others said, I cannot find this model anywhere else. Also what does the warranty cover exactly?
I'm more curious as to why I can't find this sale anywhere in the U.S. - at all.
KestrelX
We pretty much have the exclusive launch on this new product. You will see it in 1-3 weeks other places and at higher prices than we are selling it for here.
Lul he says "va panel"!
All jokes aside, one thing is why only $50 off to from half a grand. Is this monitor good? More then likely but for its price for the average consumer still way to steep. There casual gamers, pro players, then you got all your tryhards out there. Point is not everyone can afford what the pros can.
Btw "va panel" rofl.

Not sure where you are coming from on this one. For a gaming monitor this is pretty inexpensive. Also, ATM VA panels for gaming are selling a lot more than TN or IPS.
Relyn
Clearly you don't have much of an idea about monitors or gaming for that matter. Why would pro players or "tryhard" opt to use high resolution at low frame rate? Why would pro players opt to use ultrawide monitors? Why is the fact that it has VA panels funny? None of this makes sense, the only thing that can be drawn from your comment is that you should maybe stick to talking about stuff that you have some level of knowledge about.
3440x1440, 100hz, freesync, 4ms refresh, VA.
Seems decent for $450. Or is this the VA panel that's garbage?
whomad1215
It's a Samsung VA panel. Its legit.
