Question: For someone who just casually plays a game of CSGO here, and a fair amount of WoW and is simply looking for something that can handle such games at reasonably high settings, is this viable? Also reading the concerns about the PSU... just wantt o ensure I'm not thinking about buying something that will screw me over in a year.

DanielMartinezJust go to pcpartspicker and get a build that suits your needs. If that's all you're doing you don't need to spend 1400 on this.

DanielMartinezThis is over kill and not future proofed at the same time. Nvidia cards just brute force their way thru DX12 and vulcan with barely any gains over DX11 which is where many games will be headed. AMD cards on the other hand gain a lot by moving to dx12 handily beating the nvidia counterpart that they were just behind on DX11. AMD cards are more future proof as far as API capabilities are concerned. Nvidia is just brute force stronger till Vega comes out next year. that is only with 1080 and above though. The fury you get about 1070 level performance out of on DX12 titles and more even. in general though the titles you play are not very demanding and with pcpartspicker you can easily get away with about a $600 machine to do everything you need and will be within 15%-20% of the performance of this

DanielMartinezIf you don't want to build something or don't have the aptitude this computer will most definitely get you through CSGO and WoW at the highest settings. Tbh it could probably plat GTA V at fairly high settings which isn't exactly an easy game to run, especially online

AntonyFaragYea, I figured as much...I'm just slightly lazy enough to consider something pre-built so I don't have to deal with putting it together. Thanks for the response, really appreciate it

DanielMartinezDaniel, I am using the Aegis-050US model hooked up to the following 6 - LG monitors currently. Two - 34" Ultrawide curved 1440p diplays - 34UC88-B. Two - 31" true 4K displays - 31MU97-B. Two - 29" Ultrawide displays - 29UM68-P.
I have been playing CSGO at the highest resolutions/settings possible for my setup and it has been running perfectly. It is a great machine and I would recommend it for someone looking for a great gaming box.
This model is on Pre-Order many places with no shipping ETA. MSI has partnered with Massdrop for this exclusive Pre-launch and anyone who purchases a unit here will receive it in the expected shipping window which I believe is only 14 days.
The specs listed on these two models are correct and if anyone would like to verify you can check them out on MSI's website here.
https://us.msi.com/Desktop/Aegis.html#hero-specification&sku_no=1792
If anyone has any questions about this machine please ask and I will be more than happy to answer them. By the way, I have already installed some LED lights inside mine and I do say it looks pretty nice.
Cheers.

DanielMartinezBoth games require less than this to be max. I'd argue you could build a more tailored pc for half this and be happier with more upgrade room built in
Sep 23, 2016
DanielMartinezYou could DEFINITELY build a PC for a fraction of the price of this one and run those games at max with no issues at all. This would be overkill for sure. /r/buildapc or pcpartpicker.com would be a great resource for you.

SpartanKennedyMy laptop has a 4720HQ @ 2.6 GHz and a 965m, and I can run medium-high on GTAV online @ 60fps without dipping below 50. In the end of the day, this computer is many things: Ugly, poor price/performance when taking into account custom build prices - and most of all not something Massdrop should be selling.

livingspeedbumpI'm building a PC on PC Parts Picker with a $100 difference at best using a potato as a chassis. Seems like a pretty good deal here considering it's all put together and there's RGB on the case.

AntonyFaragSo you'd say to go AMD instead of NVIDIA? I'm trying to figure out what to get for my next build. Right now I can pull out the SSD and HDD from my current PC, but I'm going to be replacing pretty much everything else, and I'll have to buy Windows 10 too if I don't want to keep running 7 (which has been good to me, but I've been reading up and apparently 10 is going to better in the long run for games). Here's my PC part picker. Would you say it'd be better to go a different route?

KangTheMadYou can swap out that AIO watercooler for an air cooler and save a bit of money, my 6700k (not overclocked) is running on a stock i5 cooler. Also, entirely personal preference but I would pay the extra $30 or so for Win 10 Pro cuz you can opt to disable the annoying aspects of Win 10, like the automatic updates that force reboot while you're using the PC. The rest looks fine.
Also pro tip: If you're not hurting for a new PC, build your PC over a few months as you can usually find great sales from Newegg and such which will save you about $100-200.

DanielMartinezHere is a perfectly balanced build for your needs, if you don't want to build it yourself just get a service which will build it for you under a 100$ and it will still be much greater than a prebuilt at a fraction of the price :). >> http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/mJDWcc
You can always swap the motherboard / PSU / Case for something more suited to your liking but the rest is pretty much the best bang for your buck (unless you would prefer to go AMD 480 for "future-proofness").

DanielMartinezI think I would go for slightly cheaper RAM, say Corsair LPX to save $30 or so... then maybe that mobo, something in the $130-160 range to save a few bucks. That might get you far enough to upgrade that CPU to a 6600k or that GPU to either a 1070 or 980ti so that you can at least add a 2nd one down the line for some SLI goodness. Stretch that dollar a little further.

WarheadAdding 100$ for build and considering the various shipping costs from so many sources (newegg, amazon ...) you just offered an weaker (GPU and CPU) system for an higher price. You have added some storage, but don't forget that is listed as gaming system. I regret that I could not afford it as it was a more than decent offer.

KangTheMadyes save yourself about $200 bucks and get a 480 or a Fury X. we are already seeing massive gains with AMD on games like doom using vulkan API and other DX12 games that aren't bugged with Gameworks (Batman Arkum Nights). Also a little secret you can get windows 10 off of Kinguin.net for like a third of the price. I would go with Warheads build but up the CPU to a 6500K and lower the ssd to a 120 or a 256
