Product Description
MSI’s Geforce GTX 1060 Armor 6G OCV1 is based on a GPU that boasts similar performance to that of its bigger brothers—the GTX 1070 and 1080—but it’s smaller in stature. Improving upon its popular predecessor, the GTX 960, this upgraded version blows it out of the water in both performance and size Read More

i passed on the last 1060 cuz the card doesn't support analog monitors, and i still connect a VGA monitor from time to time. this one drops one of the DisplayPorts, and adds a 2nd HDMI, which is fine. however it also doesn't support VGA. when a feature like "works with your old monitors" (that's a feature, right?) gets cut, i need a better discount to feel good about the purchase.

thanks for that, it's surely a viable option for many. "Active" basically means it requires it's own power source. personally i don't relish the idea of plugging a cheap USB dongle into the back of my new GPU. i give my GPU plenty of power, why should i have to wrangle another power source to it? makes it that much sadder that such an easily incorporated feature has been removed from the card when a $15 adapter can do it. despite the poor aesthetics, if the card was discounted $15 bucks, i'd probably bite.

J_RoThe DisplayPort dongle draws power from the port, which provides 3.3 volts at up to 500 milliamps. HDMI's power source is only 50 milliamps at 5 volts so that dongle draws power from USB.

How does warranty go for MSI / Massdrop internationally? Interested in the drop, but not if I can't RMA a faulty unit.

pordssabPordssab, That is for the discontinued version of this card. The card we are offering is the OCV1 version which has 2 HDMI ports & 2DP ports. Thanks.

Tex-ArozziSorry to break your triple-7 rating with an additional +1 but accuracy matters.

With the exchange rate to Canadian dollars this doesn't seem worth it as the price is $394 CAD including shipping. At that price there are multiple less expensive 6 GB cards available on NCIX and Newegg.ca and although they are not this exact card, the price/performance ratio is better. The Gigabyte 1060 Windforce OC for example is cheaper and has a higher base and boost clock than this card (1582/1797 MHz respectively).
