And here I thought the MSRP for the GTX 1070 was $379... so much for that!
Here's waiting for the RX 480!

PsyckosamaIt is....for the standard reference card.

MarkPharaohThe aftermarket reference card from MSI is going for $410. Granted, MSI tends to be more expensive, but they're also the only company currently offering a non-FE blower-style card.

MarkPharaohNope. There is no "reference" card... The "FOUNDERS Edition" card on the other hand is $449.

PsyckosamaWhat are you talking about, directly from Nvidia's website:
"The GeForce GTX 970 is the most popular video card on Steam, and has been a smash hit worldwide, delivering great performance at a great price. Today, we release its successor, the GeForce GTX 1070. Built using the same NVIDIA Pascal architecture found in the most advanced gaming GPU ever created, the GeForce GTX 1070 delivers GeForce GTX TITAN X-class performance starting at only $379, for custom cards from our partners, and $449 for the NVIDIA Founders Edition.."

PsyckosamaThere's at least one. The MSI Aero is essentially the same blower-style card with a custom exterior for $410.

PsyckosamaI don't need to show you a current card available at that price point. You said you thought the MSRP would be $379. I showed you that it was set as that by Nvidia. I'm not going to argue with you over something as dumb as this. Nvidia's 1070 will be $379 when they put it up for sale, but for now their focus is their founder's card. Doesn't mean that third party providers will have them at the same price point.

MarkPharaohthat's literally not how it works. Nvidia will ONLY ever have their reference/founder's edition card for the 10 series. $379 is the MSRP (manufacturer suggested retails price) for 3rd party card makers, which they are not obligated to price at. This is a departure from when Nvidia USED to sell their reference cards at MSRP. http://www.pcworld.com/article/3067744/components-graphics/nvidias-geforce-gtx-1080-and-gtx-1070-founders-edition-graphics-cards-explained.html plenty of other articles on the Founder's Edition say the same thing

MarkPharaohYou must be new to this whole "sarcasm" thing. The Founders Edition is nVidia's and it's $450. The board partners aren't going to price for less if they can get it.

ImperialKnightGlad someone is paying attention. It's silly how much extra nVidia is asking for basically a card with minimal overclocking headroom and a really weak cooler.

MarkPharaohno its not, the standard reference card is called "founders edition" now and it is supposed to be 449$ msrp this model should be around 400$ but supply and demand i guess.
