FYI guys... i have one of these cards and it has issues with stutter and lag. I would avoid this card.

78 pages of people complaining about it too.

clshadesI'd just like to add, you link to a PNY 1080 card, PNY is a budget brand when it comes to other manufacturers. This is MSI.
My dad owns 2 of these but he bought them from the local PC shop, no issues at all. I think your issues is with the manufacturer of the product and not with the 1080.

NicholsonrOK LOOK. You aren't actually adding anything other than nonsense and I wouldn't have posted a link or the next 200ish words negating what ever it is you believe or think to be true. BTW PNY cards are actually decent cards... but you wouldn't know that. Not really. Pardon me for being a little pissy but i spent 1300 bux on this card brand new and I'm seriously disappointed with the performance. 1100 bux plus a 2 year extended warranty + tax.
The link i posted has hundreds of posts from all kinds of 1080's not just the pny. I own this MSI 1080 EK HAWK. I bought it when it hit the shelves and paid full price for it. I highly doubt your dad has run any DPC latency tests and maybe he doesn't notice it. I have... and I get spikes over 2500 when they should never go over 100. These cards have stutter issues and it has not been fixed since I bought it end of summer. After a couple hours of gaming the FPS will start to drop below 30 and eventually it becomes completely unplayable. I am using a 144hz monitor at 1080p which should be no issue for this card because my 780ti had ZERO issue with the same setup.
Let me google that for you: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=1080+dpc+latency+issues
Please don't tell me what my issue is when I have spent a few hundred hours trying to fix the problem. That is seriously the most annoying fucking thing I've ever read. If you did any research at all you'd know that the Original 1080 founders edition used different ram than the MSI and ooops. MSI used cheap shitty ram on their cards.
There are literally thousands upon thousands of people having issues with all different brands of cards and MSI is absolutely one of them. This exact card is having issues... don't believe me? Go waste your money and find out for yourself. If you want a card that doesn't suffer the DPC lag issue then it has to be a founders edition card for the time being. Or wait for the reports on the TI models. My 780ti Kingpin ran smoother than this EK Hawk.
Nvidia has been trying to fix the issue with software but we all know how that goes...
When I'm idling none of those bars go past 100. As soon as I load up a video game everything goes to shit. People with 1080 founders don't see anything higher than 100 gaming. People with 980ti's etc don't have any issues either. The 3rd bar is the only thing you need to be looking at.

clshadesYou should have included this information in your original post rather than carrying on like a sook when somebody suggested the reason they thought was responsible for the stutter.
