We voted for this card to get a better price on the item. It seems pretty much the same price as everywhere else. More expensive even.

$799.99 for a fully water cooled one atm, and some cards going for $650 if you snag them before they sell out.

Ok I'll bite, what possessed 360 folks to buy this at $850? They're available at MSRP on Nvidia now

SR1Danmaybe the price was less than $850 during the drops these people purchased the cards in

So glad I copped this earlier in the life cycle, $645 shipped for barely used 1 month after release. And you bet I've mined with that baby when I'm not gaming, I've definitely gotten my money's worth.

Just ETH, used to dual mine SIA; but SIA was ruined by ASICS. But keep in mind im lucky enough to not have to pay for the energy it uses (College Student, and I already got my money's worth out of gaming with it, so why not mine in my down time too). So especially since the market is down from ATH, that means most people right now would not have a high ROI. So right now my earnings IF I WAS responsible for power, would mean I'd have to either hope the market improves, or take massive cuts to my ROI.
But since I don't and I look at it as an investment into something I support I can justify HODLing what I have and rooting for the market.
BUT I'm NOT an Expert. As I said just a student with nothing better to do.
PS: I don't personally support people buying multiple cards, just to farm. I'm fine with 1/2 cards when used for gaming, or multiple cards when in workstations that benefit like render machines. People scalping cards just ruin things, but hobbyists using their own machines in downtime is okay by me.

you know, at this point you waited so long, it's not worth getting the highest end unless you have very specific circumstances, I would personally wait for amds 7nm vega, apparently half the power use, and 35% more power from node switch alone, and due to it likely being smaller, the cost of the card should go down as well.
Honestly, it would be in the 1080ti performance range, so you would either pick between amd or whatever nvidia does in response to amd getting a performance edge, drop a new card, or drop a stockpiled card either way, you likely wont pay this grossly inflated price.

Gsync has been shown in blind tests to be better than freesync. AMD drivers still blow donkey balls.

Dalamarhave had an nvidia driver kill a gpu, haven't had that with amd, and if I had it my way would still be on amd. I also have massive doubts on any test that has gsync vs freesync as being blind tests, given that quite a few did the test via a 700$ gsync and the cheapest freesync one they could find, cardboard boxes the monitors, so even if everything else is equal, the gsync would come out on top just due to the test having a better class of monitor on one side then the other.
however whenever hard numbers come out, freesync introduced less lag, less impact on performance, while if both monitors are the same internally, being 200$ cheaper then the gsync one
