Hey guys, This is going to be my first drop, but I would like some more info, (trust me, when I tried I could not get any solid info on this for myself after 4 hours + of digging in forums both in english or my native language) Do we pay VAT, or any adittional taxes in Bulgaria, I have no problem paying those however our customs way of doing things is a nightmare, and thats just from educating myself in a few forums. I just read a story of a guy who was trying to pick up 2 t-shirts from a custom's office and it took him 4 hours to go through the "procedure". My question is has anyone ever ordered any PC components for Bulgaria(its in the European Union btw) and what that entails, thanks for your time.

ChaoschildI ordered one too, and I'm from Romania. Customs here are a pain in the ass too. Is the card shipping through the postal service though? I thought it's sent through DHL.

PAUL038To be honest I have no idea :D, only info I could find for this specific drop was the date it will ship approximately. Other than that Massdrop uses DHL or USPS or UPS for shipments in EU. I am just not sure what to expect, on top of that its hella confusing wether I need to pay something or not, I was in the official custom's site both for Bulgaria and EU, and to say they are not user friendly is an understatement. After a whole day researching I am not closer to answering wether or not I will need to pay a VAT, or any other custom charges, or what amount they will be. Kinda in a cringe mode right now :/

sechsYes I am well aware of that, thing is in my country PC components have VAT waved according to some websites including officials, and some sources claim there are no extra fees, and some there are, I am asking here if anyone can give me some concrete info, not because I will have trouble with the money (the GPU costs 40% more here than what the drop is for anyway) but to avoid logistics issues. I normally do my own reasearch however this got me, I'll try contacting my local customs tommorow anyway, just wrote here in case someone had some experience beforehand :)

ChaoschildHey dude, I'm Bulgarian too (from Varna) and was wondering, what info did you end up with? Looking into a 1080 to replace my 970 and need some info regarding the things you asked about :)

al_rusevI found out I have to pay %19 VAT at customs, plus some sort of vamal taxes. At least that's how it works in my country.

al_rusevTo be honest its quite frustrating because there are like a million sites and a thousand contradicting posts it seems that the VAT for electronic componets for Bulgaria is non existent however the impost(customs tax) is there, but at what amount I have no idea, I am quite busy right now and cannot really dig into it I plan to call customs here to ask. but whatever it is I doubt that it will be more expensive than buying the card from a local dealer- currently 1080 goes for around 780$ , and I payed 547 + delivery, I highly doubt that I will have to pay more than 50-100$ for the customs fee if there is any because I found a few articles where there isnt one either so a bit unclear there. but yea, as long as you have your international warranty for it you are good to go and will recommend getting it from massdrop instead of the dealers here. Will post if I find anything in addition and definitely will make a summary once I have it in my hands and all is payed :)

ChaoschildThanks man :) the price inflation here is ridiculous, no idea why a 1080 goes for 1200BGN when it should be 900ish, quite the scam. Tbf if there aren't any taxes/very little taxes I'm gonna have all my tech imported from now on

al_rusevI would actually not reccomend that, the only exception when it comes to tech would be GPU's and they are inflated because there is alot more demand due to crypotocurrency mining, if you are buying any other component for a pc a local dealer will be better almost always

ChaoschildI got my card today. I ended up paying 19% VAT. PS: Turns up I can't redeem the Destiny 2 game because I do not meet the regional criteria. I guess only USA citizens have this right.

PAUL038Hello boys and girls. so to sum things up. Card was sent out on the 17.11.2017 from the us, and it took up until the 25.11.2017 to be dispatched from Germany for its final destination Bulgaria. I managed to get the card yesterday, 14.12.2017, I have no idea why and what has happened in this span of time but you do the math, I had to pay the 20% VAT but no customs fees which is nice, and when all is said and done I saved at least 70$ compared to what I can get the card for from any dealer in the country. Cards working absolutely fine and thanks to massdrop for being aweasome, the delivery itself took such a long time because my own postal service is well it would be better if it was gone, I think it does more harm than good, apart from that the whole thing went without a hitch :)
