Guys I'm a dud for not mentioning this in another post but for anyone holding out because of the Titan V being released it is worth pointing out that according to rumors Nvidia will probably skip Volta and go straight to Ampere for the next batch of gaming cards. Quoted from the /r/nvidia : "Nvidia is skipping 12nm for 10nm for GeForce to get both high performance and good efficiency, and we won't get the successor to Pascal until Q2 2018. " https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/7e9ddw/nvidia_skipping_geforce_volta_for_ampere/
I just don't want people to think Pascal's replacement is right around the corner when it is probably still several months out from being released.
Not surprising. Theories already predicated middle of next year due to simply ram production. It's crazy to think they'd launch the next thing so fast.
But will it be worth waiting since 1080ti is currently the best gaming card? Will this still reign supreme or will it be how it was for a 1080 vs 980ti?
