It's a sad moment for building a gaming rig right now. I remember seeing a drop for a 1080ti for like 550 usd not too long ago. Now it's like 820. Damn miners...

Havok6Wow! Wishing everyone who mines burns in hell over electronics you really don't need is pretty harsh. You want them, but they are not essential to life. Thankfully, you are not God and don't have that power. If you want to blame and be angry at someone, how about the graphics card makers. Not the GPU makers themselves, but their board partners, like MSI, ASUS, Powercolor, etc.
Some, if not all of these board makers, are selling in bulk directly to miners and vendors catering to miners or distributors selling directly to miners. Haven't you wondered how miners are making rigs the size of warehouses with thousands of graphics cards when you can only buy one per customer at a retail outlet? That means those thousands and thousands of cards don't even make it to the retail channels. Also, it isn't just mining that is creating the insane prices.
There are RAM shortages, which is why the price of DDR4 is through the roof. It's not a secret that AMD has issues with HBM supply. Nvidia is also paying the piper for their RAM. Since Nvidia is much larger than AMD/Radeon Technologies and have deeper pockets, they can pay a bit less and demand a bit more service.
Before you go condemning people to hell, you should open your mouth less, temper your typing habits and open your mind more to learn exactly what you are talking about.

QuestorsI feel like it's okay for both sides to be angry. Just a matter of focusing on facts, rather than opinions and distaste.

QuestorsI like how people are mentioning ethics and morals regarding my comment when greed is essentially the topic. These people who have ruined the market are not only destroying prices but also putting people who rely on gpus for their day to day jobs in a difficult state. I can express myself in way I feel fit, your sense of logic means nothing to me.

Havok6You feeling entitled to what you want when you want it, I have no doubt that reason, logic and facts have no bearing on your thought processes. Greed is in the eye of the beholder. If it were you or someone close to you rolling in the cash, your attitude would be 360° different. It's a human thing.
If you had a business and that business required 1000 widgets per day, yet the global supply was a mere 1200 widgets per day, you would never settle for less just to play nice to everyone else in the world who wanted to buy a widget. You will still consume the necessary amount of widgets it takes to keep your business operating at peak. Your income depends on it and your employees depend on it. Your suppliers, their suppliers and all their workers and families also depend on those incomes.
Just a thought. Would you also consider say, a disabled person, who can't work and lives on an insanely low income a greedy person if they were have a mining rig in order to hopefully make some money? Maybe even get off public assistance programs (welfare) and make a living for the betterment of their life?
The world isn't just about you and your sensitivities.

mumm96Thank you.
I let it go a week ago. The only motive to continue as long as I did? The person was arguing into a contradiction. I felt it my duty to help them get there. ;)

QuestorsLol, can we add smartphone maker like Samsung and Apple to the list? Blame them for buying up all the ram and causing memory shortage? Or we can blame the consumers demanding the newest and great smart phones.
Sources: Here is what Hutchins had to say on low supply: “All new cell phones coming out by Apple and Samsung (and others) last year started using the same memory as graphics cards. Apple and Samsung are willing to pay more for this memory to make sure they get it first and all of it that they need. This has created a shortage of memory for the much smaller companies like MSI, Gigabyte, Asus, and EVGA to make graphics cards.”

QuestorsHahaha, seriously get over yourself dude. Just because your wife and kids don't pay attention to you doesn't mean anyone else will while you're playing shinning knight over the internet. You're trying to protect crypto minners, fucking kill yourself. If you're feeling brave go to Reddit and play Captain dipshit there, there's plenty of anti minners there for you to waste your afternoon, loser.

Havok6I doubt that you would have cared about any of this if you'd had the cash to buy a 1080 when it first came out.
It's not their problem that you didn't have the cash or the intelligence to recognize that there would be a price hike.
Please stop being an abusive, horrible human being, get a job and save up for a new graphics card. They're the new price and in mu opinion, it's fine, I just bought a 1080 and it's awesome. This is economics. Economics is a big part of how the world works. Please study up I you want to learn more.
Also, You aren't entitled to an affordable graphics card. You don't deserve it. It doesn't revolve around you and wishing that other people would burn in hell makes you look like an edgy shithead.
The producers are happy with the profits and complaining on a post like this and being rude to other people won't help your situation.
Cheers, just trying to help :)

SphndzDon't take me for a fool and don't patronize me. There's such a thing called advocacy, not everyone is a selfish piece of shit like you. I've been having my GTX 1080 ti, but more importantly is my passion for the PC world and it's communittees. You can bet your top fucking dollar that I'll be in the forefront when anything hurts my fellow gamers and pc builders. Stop deffending greed, you look stupid while doing so and have some self respect dipshit.
