It's sad that I got this same card around 8 months ago for $279 but now this is considered a deal. Freaking crypto miners

If you want a MSI GPU, get the Gaming X, not the Armor junk.
When you write 'agreement', you make it sound benign - if what HardOCP wrote is true, then it is the nvidia hijacking of the gaming x brand to forcibly exclude AMD in a likely illegal anticompetitive manner.

Not that I disagree with your statement but these cards, Vega, and Pascal are EOL. Not only that Armor series are only junk when it was the MK1 (which was within this generation) had shoddy fans/heatsink. Which didn't matter for the informed buyer as it was the cheapest and closest you could get to buying Gaming X PCB. Yes the armor series are just heatsink flash cut down version of the Gaming X line.
But yeah.... Pascal is dead, Vega was dead on arrival and Polaris is dead. Bring on Navi, new node Vega and whatever the consumer version of Volta/Ampre/Turing/WhateverNvidia cards

Asleeper135These are the air cooled card to get imo. If you are trying to make roi on a personal computer through mining, this or the 570 dual fan 8gb. If I was setting up a farm it would be the 570; personal computer 580.
edit: I run FarCry5 on max settings 144 fps with a 580 red devil, older than this card PCB tech wise.

What do you mean? The manufacturer itself says their own lineup isn't good? I've never owned an Nvidia card all 3 PC's I've built have used and gpys/cpus

I still run aeon even though its CN. Asics havent really hit it yet it seems so I get about one or one and a half aeon a day which is about a dollar a day per card sometimes two depending on the day lol. Really though you would run equihash on something like this or even vertcoin. This is an oversold market in crypto anyways so right now you can mine anything and in a year it will probably be worth 10x what it is right now assuming the cartel doesn't take BTC to the 1k territory... But CME does ruin everything. But then asics wouldn't be cost efficient for the most part so gpus would be fashionable again and anti-asic coins will moon. It will be like the 10/ghs cards from back in the day, I am sure you remember those. :)
And there is also talk about bricking asics on some CN networks ;P
