Quick note so that audio engineers have faith in your copy: Ribbon microphones were *not* invented to "flatten spikey high frequencies."
They were simply another method of energy induction and conversion invented in the early years of electronic sound recording (1920's). In fact, ribbon mics had a wider dynamic and frequency range than microphones of the time, and this included higher frequencies than those achievable by electrified-diaphragm (condenser) means.
It looks pretty foolish to state what you have here, regardless of the merits of the deal.
