The product pictures shows 2 versions of Coulee 25. The first photo is an older version of the bag whereas the other photos beneath has the newest version of Coulee 25. How do you tell ? Just look at the color of the strap. Besides that the major difference between the 2 versions is that the 2019 has a detachable side pouch and is not 420 denier. So which is it ?

I'm aware the older Coulee's belt is not removable while the current version is. Have you read the specs posted by Massdrop for this bag? I was referencing that:
  • Material: 420d nylon
  • Removable redirect waist belt system
The current bag's material is 330D Robic nylon fabric. They probably did a hack job with copy-pasting pictures and specs from the manufacturer's site.

_rayThat's the thing isn't it. There is no version in 420d with a removable waist belt. So which version is Massdrop selling?

adema24How tall are you? It’s highly adjustable but I see no spec from the manufacturer. The yoke ships at its shortest length, but thetr’s a rigid plastic spade included to separate the velcro and lengthen the yoke. Maybe someone can ask the manufacturer? They make military packs and must know the size range. I could measure but doubt it would help.

I have this (coyote color) and the 40L version. This is a great pack. I have used it for summer UL overnight wilderness trips high in the Rocky Mountains. It’s a bit small for extended or cold-weather treks. The suspension system is great. I know packs well, own too many, and tired of the UL frameless packs’ (e.g. GoLite) lack of support. Cinch the belt on this pack well and it’s almost weightless. This is worth the added weight. I added pockets to the waist belt, for convenient access to frequnetly needed items.
