Got my MR Daily a few days ago, and I'm loving it. The partitioned three main compartments are versatile, especially the stacked pockets in the full-zip front, and the laptop and main compartments are compressible when not full. The real waist belt is a *big* plus, and equally good is its foldaway design when not needed. My only gripe is that MR repeats the same mistake found on many other brands' packs: why do the lower compression straps wrap *over* the side pockets?!? It can't be that hard to design a pass-through on the inner side of the pockets, so that the straps can compress the pack but not the bottle sleeve. Excepting this design flaw, the Daily is a very comfy, well thought-out pack and I'm surprised it isn't more popular.

StoryvilleWhat are your thoughts on the 420d twill rip nylon over the 500D cordura? I really wish they made this bag in 500d cordura like most of their other packs :(. Also, i read another review that the straps were too soft and sloppy, what are your thoughts?

B_dub_gearTwo weeks in, I like the MR Daily material and might actually prefer it. Tom Bihn uses 420D ripstop, but I can't get on-board with any of their designs-- too business preppy for me. The pack's 420D rip is smoother and slicker than the 500D Cordura on my MR 3-way briefcase. I love the latter, too, but I've found that some kinds of lint/dirt stick to it like gum (airports and airplanes are the worst). So far, the 420D rip attracts *nothing,* which is apparently a big plus of Tom Bihn's 420D. I doubt there will be any durability issues with 420D rip vs 500D Cordura, and aesthetically the twill pattern is subtle but pleasing, nicer than plain-jane black. As for shoulder straps: They're working fine for me; I've not noticed anything overly soft about their padding. The MR Daily won't work for everybody but I'm surprised it wasn't more popular. Glad I got one before they're gone, esp. at this price.
Sorry for not replying sooner-- I don't check in daily to MD!
