Following the success of the Nexus, which garnered more than 2,000 supporters on Kickstarter in 2013, Scottish fountain pen company Namisu recently released the Orion. The new model was redesigned with community feedback, and features the same clipless, minimalist design as its predecessor, plus a few subtle improvements. It's available here in the black anodized aluminum finish.
Note: This pen comes standard with a polished stainless steel nib in extra fine, medium, or broad. For an additional $40, you can opt for a titanium nib in extra fine or medium.
Now made of 6000 series aluminum, the body features a textured matte coating and shallower grooves on the grip section. All this gives the pen a smooth feel and solid weight, and makes it more comfortable to hold during long writing sessions. With fewer threads than seen on the Nexus, the Orion’s cap is quicker to open—and thanks to a slightly slimmer end, it’s also postable. The Orion is compatible with international standard cartridges and converters.
All orders will be shipped by Massdrop.
Estimated ship date is Dec 20, 2017 PT.
After the drop ends, payment will be collected. To deliver the best value to the group the request will then be submitted to the vendor up front, making all sales final. Be sure to check the discussion page for updates.
