Been talking to massdrop support about this, but maybe @Nano_Magnetics_USA should see this too? http://imgur.com/a/MCjjk
Background: I ordered two of these in the previous drop (two meaning two 2-packs for a total of 4 sets)
afk.or.feed😲 This is the first I've heard of this. Please send an email to cs@thenanodots.com so that we can get you set up with the appropriate codes. Let's get this sorted out for you ASAP!

Nano_Magnetics_USAI'll be sure to do that. Do you know anything about the size differences?
afk.or.feedWell, size definitely matters! ;) What exactly do you mean? Nanodots are 5mm in diameter. Mega Nanodots are 15mm in diameter. Mega Nanodots are 3x Nanodots in size. While both are magnetic, Nanodots are made of Neodymium Iron Boron while Mega Nanodots are made of Military Grade Ceramic Ferrite, Hopefully that covers your question.

Nano_Magnetics_USAsee the last photo in the link I posted. The different color nanodots I received were different sizes. Not noticeable until you start trying to build things together at which point the structures begin to warp due to the size differences.

BlueCrownedI was communicating with them via email for a bit (one email, one response, one counterresponse), but I stopped hearing from them again. I'm 99% sure at this point that all the black ones are, on average, smaller than the others. They mentioned quality checking everything to be reasonably consistent, but as I mentioned in the email (using made up numbers here to make a point), if the acceptable margin in the QC was +/- .1mm from 5mm, all the gold/silver ones could easily be between 4.99mm and 5.01mm (well within the acceptable margin), and all the black ones could be between 4.90 and 4.92mm (also technically within the acceptable margin). But you string 100 black ones next to 100 gold ones, and you have added up over 100 units, quite a difference in length, resulting in the curve. An acceptable margin for variance doesn't matter here. The difference in average unit size between color variations is much more important here.
I have not yet gotten a reply after pointing this out, and providing several more photos of structures that are severely skewed due to this issue.
afk.or.feed& @BlueCrowned thanks for bringing this to our attention. Not an excuse, but we are a small team, and we try to resolve everything in a timely manner. Quality is a very serious matter and based on your last email, we had thought your matter closed. Specifically, you had ended your email with "How can I help?" so we would like to encourage the discussion and analysis!
We would like to resolve your concern quickly and accurately. Do you have a micrometer or other measurement tool? I'd be curious to get some measurements of your gold, silver and black sets. More importantly, let's resolve your inquiry by getting a black set that matches. We build multi-color creations of varying scale and complexity and can't repeat your testing method, so your case is very unique.
Lastly, afk, I'd like to post your last email here to provide context, and answers! Every Nanodot set goes through QA to cater to the needs of our own Master Builder, but also collectors like you and BlueCrown.

Nano_Magnetics_USAThanks for the reply. I actually happen to work next door to a jewelry shop that has some measuring tools I could borrow. I'll see if I can get access to some this week and let you know what I find. Feel free to use my messages as you see fit. I think we all want to make sure this product is the best it can be.

Nano_Magnetics_USAI was able to borrow a digital caliper from the jewelry store today. I measured a large sample of gold, silver, and black nanodots and emailed you my findings. Let me know if there's anything else I could do!
