Someone who knows more about electronics will have to edumuhcatify me on this, but "powerful neodynium magnets" + electronic devices = A recipe for potential issues in my book. From my understanding this is theoretically safe for a phone as they don't use a traditional hard drive and RAM shouldn't be impacted by magnets, but I've read tales of people saying it messes with certain features of a phone.
Also if you put something that does use a hard drive like an old ipod or similar it'll die, horribly.

As a heavy phone user (which is pretty much everybody these days) I have a magnetic holder in my car, and one on my home desktop. There is a permanent plate on the back of my iPhone X which is required to mount magnetically. I've had this configuration for over a year, never had an issue. I also have one on a backup iPhone 6+, the same thing, never had an issue. It's super convenient versus the mounts with the wings to grab the phone. Hope this helps.
