what is a "private reserve" knife..? i get it when they market wine with that on the label but a knife?

DocZZZAl Mar's family evidently discovered a huge stack of old design drawings some time after his death. A "private reserve" of designs. So they are modernizing the materials and designs a bit and selling them.
You're right though, it does sound weird to have a"private reserve" knife.

DocZZZIf you are going to hide any side of the blade, it would be the one that clearly says, "Made In China".
