fhoodits VG10 from Japan (not saying its worth it) and they are proud of that stuff .. just look at spyderco's insane pricing on Seki city stuff

Ben78Spyderco's 7 inch chef's knife is $130 in vg-10 and with that I get heat treating and quality that I pretty much know will be exceptional.

fhoodmeant more the folding knives .. the delica is a great knife .. it is not an 80 dollar knife ... Seki VG10 seems to have almost a luxury tax for some reason

Ben78You can get a Delica for 60 and it is one of the thinnest, lightest knives out there to include full steel liners.

fhoodOk let’s compare a para 3 and a q ball as similar knives around 3 inch blades g10 over steel liners. Para 3 American made s30v 129$ q ball Japanese vg10? 180$

Ben78Honestly, I don't know anything about the q ball. But as I said earlier, if the Spyderco chef's knife, which is seven inches of seki vg-10 goes for 130, I have trouble seeing how a fairly plane fixed blade at > 5 in justifies a near 200 dollar price tag.

fhoodLegendary dead guy penned the design (Al Mar) and he will haunt Nemesis if they don’t overcharge for VG-10 as he did... (Well that was the tale we told around the camp fire many years ago...)

Ben78Sorry, yeah. That was blunt and dark. In his time, Al Mar was a bastion of quality in an ocean of mediocrity. These designs—inspired by Al’s sketchbooks—are made with the blessing of Al Mar’s family. Jeff Hall, the maker behind Nemesis, is rolling out a whole series of these knives.

AxeguyMy only real problem is that they continue to act like VG10 and AUS8 are worthy of the prices but when I can get s35vn or m390 (probably made by the same OEM as nemesis) for the same or maybe very slightly more why wouldn’t I
