Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. The Keyboard layouts doc he recommends explains layout goals and metrics in detail, summarizing the alt layouts discussed here as well as more than one hundred others. Unlike the Pok3r, the New Poker II maps the 500ms delay key to Fn+H. That has so far made it impossible to map it to anything else, and I still haven't discovered a workaround on my Amazon-purchased NP2. A support request is in and I'll post if I find a solution, but my confidence is low. Probably going to return it and go back to my P3.
Other than that, this is a great keyboard. Love having USB-C, and it works great with my Samsung Chromebook Plus. Unsurprisingly it won't connect to an iPad Pro using only the USB-C to Lightning cable. You still have to go through the camera kit.
This morning I responded, clarifying my initial question. Also asked if they expect to provide firmware updates to cover features like this. I'll post the answer here when they reply.
Indeed it is not possible to map an arrow key to Fn+H at the moment, we might add this feature later in a firmware, but we cannot guaranty it.
We collect feedbacks and also try our best to satisfy most users, we will let you know if we ever add this feature.
Thank you for your interest in our products! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to let us know.
it seems like there's no ability to swap via dip switch, I was under the impression previous Pokers could.
