Good one you guys for calling out products that are not good deals. I thought this one looked really sharp, and wanted to know why it was worth so much...
The answer: it isn't!
thanks fellow MD buyers. :)

i have one of these. exact same one..trust me, it's definitely not worth the $70...or $60...or heck, even $20. might as well just print one yourself on a colour printer and stick it onto a clock. pretty sure that's what they did

Not to be Debbie Downer, but this seems to be a smartly styled mass-produced Chinese wall clock, I assume with the same "economical" AA-powered movement I'd find on any $20 national retailer sold wall clock. It does look nice, and I don't mind paying more for quality, but the Newgate line seems more than style over substance (1 year movement guarantee aside.)

"...but the small digital screen lacks the gravitas and aesthetics of a proper wall display."
Yikes.
