I have been using the Nikon 35mm f/1.8G AF-S DX Lens, for a non-full frame camera D3000 previously, currently using the D5300. I have been very happy with this lens. The control over the depth of field is amazing, best lens for portrait type shots without paying the full frame body and lens cost.

copter64Mine has started to make a grinding noise when auto-focusing. Sorta regretting getting this lens from Massdrop. In a previous comment I mentioned my package and lens box came open, so I can only assume the stupid mail workers/inspectors did something they shouldn't have. The 50mm lens I also ordered from Massdrop came in an actual shipping box instead of a reused battery box, so they didn't open it and the lens is working beautifully, so at least there's a silver lining.
