A couple of comments to Massdrop on this one:
1) I'm really excited to see Nikon gear on this site! While I already own this lens, I'll definitely be on the lookout for future lens/gear drops.
2) If we're going to be doing camera gear drops, you're going to have to make it clear whether this stuff is grey market or comes with a Nikon USA warranty. If it's grey market, that's not necessarily a deal breaker (for me) but then I'd want to hear more details on any warranty coverage Massdrop would be able to provide.
3) For the sake of any DSLR beginners on here, it would be nice to see some lenses that would pair well with the bodies for sale on here right now, that being the D3300 and D5300. This particular lens won't autofocus on either of those bodies since it requires a camera with a built-in focus motor to focus, like on the D7000 series and up. Also, 50mm is a really awkward focal length on DX, as some other commenters have noted. It's too tight for a lot of "normal" applications and not really long enough to be a great portrait lens. Not to say it doesn't have it's uses, but the 35mm 1.8G DX would be a much better pairing with the D3300 and D5300 since it would autofocus with both and provide your standard, "normal" angle of view.
Just my two cents. Again, super psyched to see Nikon gear on Massdrop!

Royalpig180Thank you! I have a D5200 and appreciate the clarification. I too am glad to see Nikon drops but as a beginner, the info is sparse. I'll keep looking for better DX pairing to expand my horizons.

nrkissedNo problem! I'd strongly encourage you to consider the 35mm F1.8G DX lens if all you have right now is the 18-55 or 55-200 kit lens. Hopefully we'll see it drop soon, but TBH it's a huge bargain even at MSRP.
