I've owned this lens for about 4 years now and can say it is an excellent quality lens. It's kept up well over time. No wear on the zoom ring and the VR technology works well. I do recommend getting a UV lens for this lens as it will definitely help in protecting the front of the lens. I had one shatter after getting poked in my bag but the front of the lens was perfectly fine.
